Dupuis Reserve

I'm going stir crazy with work and have drawn a line in the sand. Literally! Gonna get out for at least one night right smack in the middle of tax season.

Anyone wanting to join, I'm going into the Dupuis Reserve next Sat for an overnight. Short hike (kids in tow) overnight stay out on Sunday.

The Dupuis is just east of Lake Okeechobee outside of Indiantown FLA.”

When you say short hike are you going to the first camp site? The one that is only a couple of miles in? When I was there last year it was in pretty bad shape. The one in the back was nice.

It's open this weekend but closed the next two due to turkey hunting.”

“hope to stay at the second site, but might do the first - it'll depend on what kind of mood the 9 yr old is in. She's used to hiking in the mountains, so I'm hoping the flat terrain helps her demeanor.

“THey don't allow hunting except on the scheduled times right?”

“Hunting is only allowed certain times. Big game certain times in the fall. Then some weekends for turkeys in the spring. Those times you are not allowed to hike or camp. The rest of the time is fine no hunters. I almost never see anyone when I go out there.
