Webshots

“I browsed photos on webshots in the past. Finally, I have started putting my own photos on it. I'd like to see everybody's photos who has them.

I'm just new to taking photos, but it's fast becoming a hobby. I really enjoy viewing them and seeing where people have been.

“its easier to work with if you download the webshots desktop, you'll get used to it with time.”

“You're beginning well..you've downloaded the pictures..now, why don't you go back into "My Photos", click on your albums, and the page that says "edit" under each photo will come up..hit edit and add comments, like what we're looking at, under "title"..you can extend those into a long trip report by writing more under caption..hit "done and go to the next one..the shots are great but titling them and letting us know who the people are will make your albums a full-fledged trip report..hope you don't mind the advice..I know it's alot of work..”

“Hey Ivygal, if you use the "webshots desktop" little program you can do all that edit stuff on your desktop instead of through their website. Its a lot easier and goes a lot faster.”

“I installed that Webshots desktop and shortly afterward removed it. A few days later I did a scan with anti virus software and a Trojan horse was on my computer. It seems to be some type of spyware and I don't know if it came from Webshots or not. I'm just wondering if anyone else had this happen from Webshots.”

“A lot of those "toolbar" and "desktop" tools companies are offering have trojans piggybacked on them. Generally they are harmless tracking software, but they will slow your computer down and sometimes make it act erratic.

Ivygal, get SpyBot and AdAware. I use that combo to keep adware and spyware off my computer at home. It also seems like I'm getting considerably less spam now too.”

“These programs make you think you're getting something for free, but the payment is an invasion of your computer system. Like I said I'm not sure Webshots is doing it, but lots of others are.”

“My homepage changed on its own to Webshots and from what I just read if your homepage changes, that's evidence of a spy program running.”

“yeah, if the home page changes, that is convinceing evidence of spyware. Mine used to change to "zestyfind" all the time.

Spbot and Ad-Aware seem to keep the nasties at bay.
