"All the problems we face in the United States today can be traced to an unenlightened immigration policy on the part of the American Indian."

.......
In broken English, one woman told (Hillary) Clinton how she wasn't making money as a broker anymore.

"I have no income at all," she said. "So how will I survive?"

Choking up with emotion, the woman said, "In my neighborhood, there are brand-new homes, but the value is nothing. I'm glad you are here so I can tell you, because you're going to be the president, I know."

A man shouted through an opening in the wall that his wife was illegal.

"No woman is illegal," Clinton said, to cheers.

SALEM, Ore. - Some English-speaking firefighters are losing their jobs because of an Oregon state law that requires them to be bilingual.

The Department of Forestry enacted a law three years ago that requires them to be bilingual, but this year they're actually enforcing it.

2002 was such a devastating wildfire season, contractors were scrambling to find firefighters.

Hispanics often filled their needs on the fire lines.

Jim Walker of the Department of Forestry said "what we do know is 85 percent of the crew make-up is of Hispanic decent."

But many of the Hispanic fire fighters do not speak English. Walker says the language barrier is a concern.

LOL...no currahee had to take care of some stuff.....

but then we go to the story and we see

Both Oregon state officials and those in the firefighting business say they do not think there are 'that many' illegal immigrant workers in the fire crews.

For those who do not know 'not that many" is government speak for "HELL Yes they are here."

The only recourse is simple. All firefighters in Oregon who are true Americans should refuse to work. Since America has become the land of sheep, this will once again be swept under the rug as individuals refuse to stand up to this assinine ruling and cave under pressure. Most of the founding fathers died penniless but the modern American would never give up the comforts they have to stand on principal.

Immigration Debate Stirs Up GOP Platform Meeting
by Kathleen Hunter, CQ Staff

MINNEAPOLIS — Disagreement among Republicans about the party’s stance on immigration — and lingering unease about John McCain ’s past positions on the issue — were on display here Tuesday as Republicans began writing their 2008 platform.

Like much of the platform proposal, the immigration portion is designed to appeal to the party’s conservative wing, representatives of which generally gave the document positive reviews.

The draft calls for stricter enforcement of laws governing illegal immigration, including increased border security, requirements for businesses to verify workers’ legal status and cracking down on the smuggling of illegal immigrants into the United States.

“Border security is essential to the national security,” the draft reads. “In an age of terrorism, drug cartels and criminal gangs, allowing millions of unidentified persons to enter and remain in this country poses grave risks to the sovereignty of the United States and the security of its people.”

The draft explicitly opposes amnesty for illegal immigrants and recognizes English as the nation’s official language. Both provisions sparked a spirited debate among members of a GOP platform subcommittee, with several members calling for even stronger language and others defending the draft.

McCain — the party’s presumed presidential nominee — has emphasized enforcement and border security while on the campaign trail. But he was one of the primary writers of a doomed 2005 bill, labeled “comprehensive immigration reform,” that would have done more to allow illegal immigrants to assimilate into the country. McCain worked on that measure with Democrat Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts.
