No Patience, Huh?
Practice with the sticks.

Start by picking up a single grain of rice.

For a first time passport application you'll need a birth certificate with an offical seal (or maybe an social security document that is official) - do ya gots that???

... and you can only get an expedited passport if your are leaving in 14 days or less, you're not leaving that soon are you? Not leaving in 14 days, you have to go the normal route.

yup, bobo, gots the birth certificate and a SS card and a driver's license. i'm pretty sure that's all they said i'll need? k then i guess i'll have to go the normal route and not get an expedited passport and hope that it comes in on time... ya think it will? i'm leaving may 28th...

markO, start by picking up 1 grain of rice at a time? melissa has no such patience.

May 28th? loads of time! Just make sure that your birth certificate is not just a copy and has an official seal or it won't be accepted. If this is the case, you have to track down the hospital where you were born (Although I suspect you were hatched from an egg!) and request an official certificate with the seal. At least, that's what I had to go through...

I was having funny thoughts of you trying to use chopsticks! If you want, we can go out and I'll teach you what I know about sushi, chopsticks, and SAKE (Sake MUST be the proper temperature)!!!

Hai!

Around us, there are many places to eat Sushi, the Sushi explosion has occured within the past two years and nowadays you can get sushi anywhere.
Ahhh, but the best sushi around, my little grasshopper, is not unknown to those who know.

Oh yeah... try to remember not to go running through anyone's zen rock gardens while your over there, that must realy piss em off.

I'm so pissed! I got my passport photos taken at CVS and the idiot must have done them wrong because I got a letter today saying that they aren't an acceptable scanning size (even though they're 2x2 inches). Now I gotta get them retaken and then send them back to the people who handle the passports nad PRAY that I get the passport in time for May 28th...

"Hi" Means "Yes" In Japanese
Is it me or does anybody else see the Japan advertisements on the ad column to the right side of the page? A thread on Japan and somehow ads for Japan are shown, now imo, that friggin' wierd.

And when you're there Scorchypoo, don't forget to ask all the old people if they ever got to see Godzilla when they were young.

If you keep reloading you'll get the ads by google, you know the people who are gonna read your email and put in ads based on the content, obviously Matt let them test the concept on TT.

It's google!

I've mentioned it many times before, but no one believes me.

once I set my preview to trips and gear only (meaning WAY fewer subjects) the spam to the e-mail address in my profile decreased by close to half.

Hiding my e-mail address in the "comments" box had no affect on the amount of spam.

I hadn't noticed it before now, but I went to several other threads (like the Digital Camera thread) and sure enough the "ads by google" were thread appropriate.

I've never gotten spam through this site and my email is listed. Weird.

So anyway. Japan.

I don't get any, or rarely do I get any. So, unless Matt just likes to plague some TTers I doubt it comes from here.

I sincerely doubt that matt plagues certain TTers Sassafras, and I believe him when he says he doesn't sell our e-mails. But I do believe the google spyware is active.

Scorchy, if you are dealing with the Post Office for your passport, don't let up. I had to apply for mine 6 months in advance of my trip.

Grrr. I got my passport photos taken again today. Will be mailing them out first thing tomorrow morning with a letter stating when I need it by. If I need to pay more for expedition then they'll just have to contact me.

Tokyo is very clean, but not necessarily from a moral perspective. Pornography and prostitution are very accessible.
