I was just twisting your words, lol. But seriously, while we hear talk of how we don't have as many civil rights, what has really changed? And while there will probably always be a threat of terrorism, we have stopped potential attacks in the CONUS, but they don't make for real exciting news I guess. I don't know what line of work you're in, but I'm sorry your financial condition has worsened. Everyone would like to see the economy rebound faster. I tend to think it goes in cycles, and I don't blame any president or give credit to any president for the state of the economy at any given time.” 1:01:07 AM 3/17/04 “I see your point Phaed. While ideas like universal healthcare for example sound good, and have been in place for many years in Canada et al., I wonder how they would work in America. Maybe we only hear the good parts of those types of programs--there have to be downsides as well. Do the pros outweigh the cons? Or to paraphrase Ben Franklin, would we be sacrificing liberty for comfort?” 1:07:52 AM 3/17/04 “You are the one who has constantly equated left-leaning americans with socialism, and now you want to try to squirm out of it. Grow a pair, strat." Phaedrus i disagree because i don't believe that at all. liberals, meaning the far left...like you...heh heh. left leasnings is much milder and in fact on certain subjects, I have left "leanings". nice try though.... now, about me "screaming" socialism; is not the name of the party the socialist party? was not the conservative admin overturned? are you not happy for this fact? save your strawman falicy for the democrat voters...” 1:32:16 AM 3/17/04 “"As Rush would say, anyone who votes Dem, is a socialist laqtis here's a great example. laqtis, please show us some facts to back up this statement........" You HAVE to be kidding! I have to back up THIS statement to YOU!?!?! LMMFGDSOABAO!!!!!!!!!!! BAWBAWAWAWAWAWAAAAAAA Now THAT'S RICH! WHOOOOOOAAAA..... Spit, GACK, Arf, Wizzzzzz Bang! Ack.....Ack.....Ack... ........oh, Bill the Cat, our lonely eyes turn to you!” 7:05:43 AM 3/17/04 “i know for a fact that you can't back it up cuz it ain't true. so that would mean that you mispoke or that you are a calculated liar?” 9:46:24 AM 3/17/04 “I just want to say, "Strat, don't ever leave us!". The neighborhood wouldn't be the same without you.” 10:05:22 AM 3/17/04 “This thread was really supposed to be about a Hemi al Cuda, but Strat didn't check the spelling before he clicked on the 'submit' button. JIHAD MOPAR!!” 10:24:32 AM 3/17/04 “Let's kill that freakin' bold crap, shall we?” 12:27:21 PM 3/17/04 Strat “"Shout loud enough, ridicule the other point of view and maybe people won't notice you don't have any facts to support your argument." Guess when you don't have brains or class you have to compensate. Irony is that he probably gets more votes for the democrats from independents. Hopefully the American Public is as bright and as outraged." redhawk now if i'm not mistaken , that is an insulting & disrespectful thing to say to me. the FACT , is you did it first so get over it." stratdude You are mistaken, again! Read it again, in context. I'm referring to Rush Limbaugh. The post is addressed to you, the reference in it is to "he" Geez do you at least try to understand what other people are saying before you pop off? And yes my real name is Redhawk. It was given to me by my parents. I am proud of my name, bopth because I am proud of my parents and I am satisfied with the way I have conducted my life. So I would really appreciate that you not disrespect it. When you try to belittle or insult people in a public place, it reflects on you, not on them. You have every right to your opinions, and you have a right to state them. However you also have an obligation to back up words with facts from an independent source that gives credence your arguments. That is all I have been saying all along, and so have some others. Each time instead of verifying what you say tou get defensive and start belittling or labeling people. You also seem to make it seem that people wh are liberals are committing some kind of sin. Moderates too, and often you label a moderate as a liberal. I am a moderate, I probaly do lean a little to the left but there are instances when my views are slanted to the right. If I had to "wear" a label I would rather be labled liberal then conservative. I don't know if its a sin to be a conservative, but if Bush has to classify himself a "compassionate conservative" it would seem to indicate that true conservatives are not compassionate. \ As far as Rush Limbaugh goes, In my opinion he is the crudest, most ignorant, bigoted, classless, fatheaded loudmouth, hypocritical public figure I have even known or heard of in my lifetime. If he is your hero, fine, but siding with a loudmouth means you are going to hear flak about him. Especially from me. If you are so closely identified with him that remarks about him also apply to you in your own mind, it's not my fault. I'm waiting for you to finally understand that the way to shut up all these posts you perceive as "personal" attacks (Your perception, not my intention) is to back up your words by citing source. Then you'll shut up your critics. I have said it in every post, "Cite your facts" What part of that don't you understand?” 1:29:26 PM 3/17/04 stratdewd......Just For You “Liberal: 1.Not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas; free from bigotry. 2.Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded. 3.Of, relating to, or characteristic of liberalism. 4.Liberal Of, designating, or characteristic of a political party founded on or associated with principles of social and political liberalism, especially in Great Britain, Canada, and the United States” 1:48:15 PM 3/17/04 “At a certain point, the terrorists will do what they will do. I think that it would be impossible to secure trains that run through the hearts of cities. All it takes is a bomb on the tracks. And few people will be able to wait a half hour for a security checkpoint to get on an underground system. Does that mean that we give up these amenities? I don't think so. I think that the answer is to be as secure as is reasonably possible. Then, here's the key. Live as freely and passionately and productively as possible. This might result in a less secure nation than a police state. However, the dynamism of free people will ultimately overcome terrorism. One of my big problems with the Bush administration is that they have a fortress mentality. We should always error on the side of freedom. The Bush administration is also very dour. The only policy they have is opposition to this nebulous terror scourge. They don't stand for anything. America is a nation of ideals. It is positive. It doesn't define itself in opposition to things. It creates its own positive vision and lets that wash across the world. The next president needs a positive vision that the world can buy into. Freedom is worth a few 9/11s.” 2:15:33 PM 3/17/04 “The current administration might stand for something. They have shown an ideology that says that anything can be done better by the private sector, and that government programs are inherently flawed. They are asking us to trust people and corporations that we have absolutely NO power over, but who have tremendous influence over us.” 2:24:53 PM 3/17/04 StickmanWalking “My problem is that the "Trickle Down" economics have evidently evaporated. Also, while I admit that I am in an area where there are not a lot of jobs, this is the first time I have been unable to find work to supplement my social security. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to live on $587 a month? Its a bitter pill to swallow to hear that Social Security is going broke, to still not have anything done about prescription drugs except to see the federal government ty to cut of ordering them from Canada and in the new prescription drug bill it stipulates that local and state governments cannot bargain for cheaper drug prices the same way that HMO's can. Biggest winners in the new Medicare plan is the drug companies and the HMO's. And much of that was orchestrated by Bush. This country needs socialized medicine, like Australia. Problem is the very entities that are reaping obscene profits and causing the crisis are buying and influencing the politicians from both parties. This administration more then any in history is bending over backwards for the corporations. I am in the position I am because of pension funds disappearing as a result of fraud. That is not this administrations fault, but the policies of this administration make it much harder for me financially. Bush and the Republican Controlled Congress can't find the money to help Social Security or to benefit senior citizes, but they can allocate $80,000,000,000 to invade a county and then "restore" it and don't want it to be a "loan". Bet lots of Iraqi money ends up in the pockets of corps like Haliburton once the oil is flowing again. What needs to be "restored" more then Iraq is the US economy, Social Security and reasonable prescription drug prices.” 2:27:18 PM 3/17/04 “Dunadan, I would disagree with you completely. I think that this administration's actions prove that they strongly support big government. They federalized airport security. They greatly increased prescription drug coverage. They spend much, much more money than the Clinton administration ever did. They don't allow competitive bidding for wartime costs, preferring certain government-connected businesses. They also prefer a very centralized, government minded approach to terrorism, rather than allowing the free market of culture and commerce to end the scourge. Bush=Big Government” 2:35:55 PM 3/17/04 Want a Positive Vision: Vote for Bush. “Bush: Leads America in the world with strength, confidence, and bold decisive action. Kerry: No strategies to win the war against terrorism other than to make national security decisions only if no other leaders or other governments disagree. So far, all we hear is a lot of old anti-war bitterness and partisan anger exemplified by his statement, "these guys (Repbulicans) are the most crooked, you know, lying group I've ever seen. It's scary." Bush: Pro-growth, pro-entrepreneur, pro-small business owner agenda, free trade and tax relief, all bold, decisive and effective policies to stimulate the economy and create jobs. Kerry: Empty talk about jobs without any plans won't get anybody hired. Kerry wants to stop the recovery by putting the burden of higher taxes back on the American people.” 2:38:31 PM 3/17/04 “Pro small business owner agenda, Prosecutor? I know some small business owners in lower Manhattan that would not agree with that assessment...” 2:42:37 PM 3/17/04 “What a laughable statement. Four more years of Bush 'job creation' would kill this country.” 2:51:29 PM 3/17/04 “This guy does sound like one of those re-election commercials...” 2:55:51 PM 3/17/04 “But Treebeard, Dubya says, "god bless" a lot and that's gotta help the econmy.” 2:58:27 PM 3/17/04 Prosecutor “"Bush: Pro-growth, pro-entrepreneur, pro-small business owner agenda, free trade and tax relief, all bold, decisive and effective policies to stimulate the economy and create jobs." Prosecutor: Bush has had three years, going on four and The economy went from Surplus to Deficit, in the billions. There are hundreds of thousands less jobs now then there were when he took office. Tax relief went to the rich and there has been no Trickle-down (Reaganotics didn't work under Reagan, they sure won't work under Bush) So he can say whatever he wants to say. I say Look at the record and see that this president is a failure. He has not accomplished any of things he promised four years ago. cup your hand to your ear and hear the chant.......... otb OTB OTB! OTB! One Term Bush, One Term Bush, One term Bush Has a nice ring to it, ya know??” 3:05:12 PM 3/17/04 “ ”5:45:16 PM 3/17/04 “My guess is Osama will be a presidential candidate for the next Spanish elections and he will win using the campaign slogan, "If you vote for me as your next President of Spain, I promise not to keeeel you, all of you". He'll win by a landslide. And we all know how much Osama likes landslides.” 5:57:56 PM 3/17/04 see? i told ya so! “"We're aligning ourselves with Kerry. ...Our alliance will be for peace, against war, no more deaths for oil, and for a dialogue between the government of Spain and the new Kerry administration. ...I think Kerry will win. I want Kerry to win." --Spanish Socialist leader Jose Luis Rodriquez Zapatero, who scored an upset in Spain's elections, partly on his vow to retreat from fighting the JIhadi terrorists now discovered responsible for last week's train bombings.” 7:25:40 PM 3/17/04 “redhawk, i like your name. nothing personal. i know you're proud of the name, i would be too. i think that's the idea of using a "trail name". your political views and your views of mine are completely whack-o, however. independant sources; like the ones from solon.com or the moscow times that violin backs up everything with? not independant at all. CBS? NBC? NPR? ABC? CNN? NY TIMES? LA TIMES? PBS? none are, colectively, independant or even objective. they all have a certain vantage point from they present the news. an agenda, a motive to present things the way they see them, the way they want us to see things and what they want us to think about things. gimme a friggin break dood... noone is independant. nice try though... i don't belittle anyone any more than the libs do on here and i think your implication was clear, that rush is stupid and so are his listeners and so am i. dance around your carfully stated words all day, i don't really care cuz i can take it and dish it out as well. BTW, i haven't listened to rush in several weeks and i have never listened to him all the time, only occasionally. he ain't my hero, i don't think he's perfect, i don't always agree with him......but you're prolly not interested in the truth of the matter because it doesn't paint the picture you're trying to produce. i do believe he is very informative, extremely astute, intelligent, and funny. he hurts the liberal cause and that's why you hate him. hate .... all your politics are based on negatives. on hate and envy and jealousy and intolerance. bush is bad. Christians are bad, white men are bad, rich people are bad, unemployment is bad, the war on terror is bad, campaign commercials against us are bad. rush is bad. republicans are bad. rush listeners are bad. the economy is bad. gun owners are bad. coperations are bad. bad bad bad bad bad bad bad...... and all the solutions you have to offer are based on taking more money from the evil rich men and coperations. must suck to be so miserable alla time.” 7:47:52 PM 3/17/04 “"independant sources; like the ones from solon.com or the moscow times that violin backs up everything with? not independant at all. CBS? NBC? NPR? ABC? CNN? NY TIMES? LA TIMES? PBS? none are, colectively, independant or even objective............" YET, Strut thinks RUSH is the way to go!!!! BAAAWWWWWHWHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAA FLMAO!!!! This is great! Beautiful! You couldn't plan the responses better ! Hey, pal! I don't have to back up my above claim, homie! I listen to him everyday, pal! You know for a fact he sez it EVERYDAY take takes a breath. You don't see the Dems out there writting books called TREASON! DELIVER US FROM EVIL! THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT! LET ONE DEM IN, AND WE'RE DOOMED!!! Hate! Ya, like Bush HATES free speach! Like Bush HATES the freedoms of the internet and wants it shut cencored! Like Bush HATES "Old Eurpoe"! Like Bush HATES the middle class! Like Bush HATES anything that ain't Christian, White and RIGHT!!!! JIHAD BUSHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!” 8:13:46 PM 3/17/04 “Lagtis, you just proved Stratdewd's premise, that the current Democratic politics is based upon negatives. You used the word "hate" six times. I can't recall a single speech where Bush said he hated anything. Kerry campaigns on the negatives, exemplified by his quote, "these guys (Repbulicans) are the most crooked, you know, lying group I've ever seen. It's scary."” 9:13:11 PM 3/17/04 “Sorry, try again!” 9:24:19 PM 3/17/04 “Bush's politics are based on a negative balance.” 9:31:51 PM 3/17/04 “Yeah, I feel the positive vibes from an administration that called my profession - teaching - a bunch of terrorists. Positive feelings all around. There is one aspect of the Bush policies that is trickling down. Bush and Congress have cut federal aid to states for various programs. This has put many states in the position of raising taxes and fees. So, the feds look good like they're keeping taxes down, but the taxation just gets "trickled down" to the local units of government. This is also true for many of the federal mandates related to terrorism and No Child Left Behind. Increased federal requirements mean higher taxation at a local level. Part of this impacts students in colleges across the country. Aid to universities in many places has been reduced. For many young people any saving in taxes is small in relation to the increased costs of school. This is, of course, funny considering the Bush idea that outsourced workers will simply move to more efficient areas of the economy. Without education, they can't make the move. Screw the worker. Vote Bush.” 9:45:40 PM 3/17/04 “" that the current Democratic politics is based upon negatives. You used the word "hate" six times..........." So, you assumed that I'm a Dem, eh?” 9:46:40 PM 3/17/04 negative responce as usual..... “oh, lemme guess...you're a moderate? geesh man, you've not even got the nads to admit it. i thought liberal wasn't a dirty word.... bush doesn't hate anything you said, so lets see the INDEPENDANT resource you used to back that statement up with.... all you need is love...da da dada dahhhh” 10:37:45 PM 3/17/04 “Maybe you haven't come up fer air in a while, I'm a former HARDCORE REPUBLICAN, who in the last couple of years has become an INDEPENDANT! Last time I'm telling you that. CRIPES, man. Will you listen for a change?” 11:30:00 PM 3/17/04 “i'm sorry...did you say something? dood, it's called ADD, i just reccently remembered your friggin name. jeesh, i get dogpiled on from every angle and you want me to remember every detail? well then , the answer is simple...you need to drink some of this wonderful kool-aide ...remember the kool-aide and how euphoric it made you feel? mmMMmm kooolllll aaaaaaaaide....” 11:49:10 PM 3/17/04 Spain may not be the only ones who feel this way.. 2:26:37 PM 3/18/04 “ooooh goody. we should let the entire planet vote in our presidential elections and that way we'll please everybody. good idea, no?” 3:19:12 PM 3/18/04 “Soon Al Qaeda will have an influential seat at the United Nations.” 3:21:29 PM 3/18/04 “And who said anything remotely resembling that, Strat?” 3:25:37 PM 3/18/04 “God talks to strat through the neighbor's barking dog. He tells him to type things.” 3:27:55 PM 3/18/04 “Son of Strat?” 3:28:22 PM 3/18/04 “your implication was clearly that since poland likes kerry, we should consider him. i don't know anybody from poland...and i have my country's best interest in mind, not poland's or spain's or iran's or any other country. what a bad bad man i am, selfish and greedy for wanting to have a good place for my boys to live.” 3:35:55 PM 3/18/04 “Once again, you assume something that wasn't there. Frankly, I just thought it was a point of interest that another nation was thinking along those lines. Pardon me! What a bad person I am for linking the directly correlated subject matter to a thread that YOU STARTED! Next time, I won't be so relevant. And yeah, your assumption was wrong. There was no implication at all as you said...” 3:38:50 PM 3/18/04 “Has anyone seen the movie, "The Fog Of War"? I recommend it. At one point in the movie, McNamara states that if the US can't convince its allies, who have the same values of democracy and freedom, that our actions are for the betterment of the world, then we had better re-think our policies.” 4:06:57 PM 3/18/04 “Yes... a good place to live with plenty of mercury to ingest.” 4:27:50 PM 3/18/04 “ok tree, my bad. it seemed that way to me. anyways, i think my point is still extremely relavant to the subject.” 5:09:13 PM 3/18/04 “"God talks to strat through the neighbor's barking dog. He tells him to type things." Phaedrus Where are your sources?” 5:10:32 PM 3/18/04 “You're no one on TT until you have your own troll.” 5:15:45 PM 3/18/04 Strat “"all your politics are based on negatives. on hate and envy and jealousy and intolerance" Envious of what, of who? I would not change places with anyone in this world, and all. I am jealous of no one and who in the hell are you to call me intolerant? Like I said in an earlier post, you don't know me, you don't have a clue as to who I am, what I've done, what my likes and dislikes are. "bush is bad." That one you got right. "Christians are bad" Only when they use "God" to force their will on others and use "God" to justify unchristiamn behavior. "white men are bad" I'm 25% caucasian "rich people are bad" Some are, just like some poor people are bad and some middle class people are bad. It all depends on how they obtain the money and what they use it for. "unemployment is bad" You disagree? I want to hear that argument. "the war on terror is bad" I'm waiting for Bush to wage it on the terorists for onr thing. If we have to deny the basic principles of "Innocent until proven Guilty" to figet it we should surrender because they have won. (Digest what I said there before you pop off and make a fool of yourself again "campaign commercials against us are bad." Don't know where that came from but I will say that BOTH SIDES should accentuate their positives rather then name calling. "rush is bad." I didn't say he was "bad", I said" "As far as Rush Limbaugh goes, In my opinion he is the crudest, most ignorant, bigoted, classless, fatheaded loudmouth, hypocritical public figure I have even known or heard of in my lifetime." But not bad! "republicans are bad" Didn't say that. "rush listeners are bad". Didn't say that either. I think they are ignorant, but that doesn't make them bad. "the economy is bad." It's not? What planet are you on? "gun owners are bad." Didn't say that either. See you're losing credibility again. "coperations are bad. bad bad bad bad bad bad bad......" Have no idea what a "coperation" is. If you mean "Corporation" then I w will say that I think the ones that profit by controlling people and who have no regard for what or who they hurt are "bad" You Have negative things to say about everyone who disagrees with you. Any article, person, or anything else that has anything negative to say about Bush is either a liberal or a democrat. You want to talk about the war? You have the answers? You think this is a just war? Let me enlighten you. Bush never fought in a war. And you never fought in a war. I would also bet that most of the people who are gung ho for this have not fought in a war. When you have had friends killed six feet from you, when you have watched the life go out of someone through the sights of your rifle, when you have heard an enemies neck snap from your actions, then tell me about war. I have been in one, and I served my country and was decorated. I have taken human life in defense of my country and more important in the defense of my companions. I have seen war close up and personal. I served two tours and when I returned home I too spoke up against war as did John Kerry. No one can question my courage or his so perhaps there is a reason why most people who have participated in a war think that it should be waged only when all other alternatives have failed. Bush made it clear from the very beginning what he wanted to do and then manipulated, fabricated and misrepresented "intelligence" to achieve what he wanted. You may think that is negative, think what you want. it's the truth, it's documented. I saw real close up that politics affects war more then Freedom or Justice. What you're ending up with here is "Bushnam". After the bombing yesterday I could have superimposed Lyndon Johnson talking about "Staying the Course" and "Freedom Prevailing" in Vietnam, on top of Bush's spokesman. I've been there and until you have, you don't have the right to run off at the mouth about something you know nothing about. You think this war should be waged? Then volunteer and back up your beliefs with service. I did, and after being there, doing that, and seeing what it was really all about, I became disillusioned. All that I see going on today mirrors in many ways what transpired 40 years ago. The other thing is. I Actually fought for the freedom you think is important. I put my life on the line every day for two years so that you can voice your views here today. As far as how miserable I am? I have done everything I have wanted to do, I have gotten everything I have wanted out of life. I have gone through tragedies (loss of four children), I have survived war, stroke and cancer. I have used those experiences to work with other people and give them courage. So don't even presume to know anything about me.” 10:20:16 PM 3/18/04 “AFLAC!” 10:32:58 PM 3/18/04 “you don't have the right to run off at the mouth about something you know nothing about. You think this war should be waged? sorry bruh, you are wrong on this one. you were attacked , redhawk. your people were slaughtered. i'm not trying to be crude but it's the way i see it. nam was over a principal, we weren't attacked on the mainland by the N vietnamese. dood. this is much different, in my view. they drew first blood, i am not sorry for saying so or for believing we should take it to the streets and stop it once and for all. yeah yeah, iraq isn't alqueda, blAH BLAh.....who do you think is bombing everything in iraq? it's the bad guys, red...they are bad and they think you are weak and will not defend yourself and therefore they think you deserve to die...just because you are weak and won't defend yourself. listen to osama's rantings...he says it over and over. he hates you and has vowed to kill you and make your life miserable and chaotic. he has promised he will do it. you are not dealing with rationality. they hate you so much that they will blow themselves to bits just to kill you or me or a child we know, or our sister.....they hate you. doesn't anyone see that? it seems so simple..... i'm sorry about your hardships, and i'm proud of your accomplishments and service. my opinion on politics sometimes get's people mad at me, but we should all remember, yes me too, that it's just thoughts, just ideas, only opinions.....not a big thang really.. of course, my opinion is the correct one..... heh heh, j/k ..... kinda” 10:39:27 PM 3/18/04 “see? i told ya so! ""We're aligning ourselves with Kerry. ...Our alliance will be for peace, against war, no more deaths for oil, and for a dialogue between the government of Spain and the new Kerry administration. ...I think Kerry will win. I want Kerry to win." --Spanish Socialist leader Jose Luis Rodriquez Zapatero, who scored an upset in Spain's elections, partly on his vow to retreat from fighting the JIhadi terrorists now discovered responsible for last week's train bombings." stratdewd meanwhile, strat's boy Bush is challenging Kerry to name the world leaders that support Kerry” 10:48:12 PM 3/18/04 Jump to Page << prev
