Oh God, DDX is showing up at Jericho with an Auburn tarp as his shelter. DDX - I suggest his blue sil for the letting on the tarp. Just be sure and seam seam where the two join.

For things weighing over a pound or so UPS will usually kill USPS.

ya, i'm an idiot lol

seriously, i've never shipped too much except at work, but i never see the postage there so i guess i took it all for granted.

Hey, after shipping the cost per yard was $1.82 for 19 yards. It's a great price.

Yeah, with the holidays and all I totally forgot about a package of silnylon comming my way. I opene dmy mailbox and say this big heavy package. I was like "What the hell is that?" I didn't realize what it was until I drop op the driveway, opened my house door, and set my laptop down on my desk.

Now I just need to figure out how to make a large interlocking AU in the middle of the bright orange silnylon tarp :)

You can get shipping rates from UPS and USPS online at their websites so you know before how much it will cost. Sometimes for small things USPS is cheaper.

DDX - there are machines that can embroider about anything. You could get a blue AU embrodered and sew it to the tarp.

Deore-- just get an airbrush and airbrush it on. :-)

Don't sharpies work on it? How good are you at coloring?

DDX - just draw it up in Autocad and load the fabric in your plotter at work. That'll look good.

I did go with the offwhite for my tarp. I think a Crimson UA would look wonderful.

sharpies don't work.
i don't think plotter ink would work either.

maybe mix up a whole bunch of blue paint and silnet glue and then start finger painting

if anyone asks, just tell them your kid did it.

I'll bet I could plot on the backside with about a 24"x36" UA in Crimson. I just need to remember that I need to mirror the printing. Wouldn't want it to come out AU. That'd be awful.

You can actually run waterproof media and inks through a large format HP plotter.

ya, but you really think the ink would stick to silnylon?

in my experience nothing, and i mean nothing sticks to it except silnet glue

LOL.... you're just being cruel sacco (about DDX fingerpainting! LOL!)

He should try getting some airbrush fabric paints. that SHOULD work.... (test it out first, though!)

Got a hold of some silnylon at Wal-Mart. The lady back in crafts was so glad to see me take it. She hated the stuff and was actually pointing out the other colors for me hoping that I'd take it all. Tempting. I was almost going to see if she'd give it to me for $0.50 a yard if I took it all.
