What's up with these two computers!View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 25 of 25 messages posted.
Computers that don't play nice together “It's the weirdest thing. On my computer at work I don't have any problems with email at all, however when I send Father G a email at the house he receives it but if he trys to reply all I get back is my original message without his response. He does not have any problems with his email to anyone/where except to my computer. They used to play nice together now if he wants to send me a message he has to create a new email and that works fine. What the*&%&” 2:22:47 PM 3/15/04 “Sounds like one of you has your emailer set to reply in HTML format. Switch to plain text and see if that helps.” 2:24:38 PM 3/15/04 “"Sounds like one of you has your emailer set to reply in HTML format. Switch to plain text and see if that helps." bitpusher 02:24:38 PM 03/15/04 ignore this user -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Say What?” 2:25:58 PM 3/15/04 “Is there a blond at one end? ;-) Just picking! Just picking!” 2:26:32 PM 3/15/04 “Is there a blond at one end? ;-) When it comes to computers, might as well be!!” 2:28:27 PM 3/15/04 “Somewhere in the preferences for Outlook Express (I assume you're using Outlook Express for your email) you can set the message format of your email. I prefer plain text as opposed to HTML, because not every reader is HTML-compatible, although most are. This is a common problem when sending email to a computer that has older software loaded on it. It will see the HTML as an attachment instead of the text of the email. I haven't got Outlook Express in front of me, so I can't look it up for you right now. But do a little poking around in your preferences at home, you might find what I'm talking about.” 2:29:48 PM 3/15/04 “Thanks, Bit” 2:33:53 PM 3/15/04 YEAH! “I found it and changed mine to plain text now I will see if Father G can reply to me.” 2:37:02 PM 3/15/04 “Hopefully that will do the trick, Mother G...” 2:38:58 PM 3/15/04 “But wait, he went to the grocery store, so you might be waiting a while.” 2:39:19 PM 3/15/04 “A potential broken marriage saved by bitpusher.” 2:40:44 PM 3/15/04 “I'm multi-talented...” 2:44:02 PM 3/15/04 “Nah, I haven't left yet...” 2:45:18 PM 3/15/04 “Well reply to my email and see if it works!!!” 2:47:21 PM 3/15/04 “I did!!!” 2:49:14 PM 3/15/04 YEAH!! “It worked now we can end the frustration of it's your computer no, its your computer. It was the html thingie. Thanks Bit” 2:51:08 PM 3/15/04 “You're welcome! Another marriage saved!” 2:51:42 PM 3/15/04 “It was YOUR computer....;-)” 2:52:00 PM 3/15/04 “Father Goose starts days and our computers now like each other what more can you ask for on a rainy Monday?
