CA Backpacking 3/19-21

“Work, and life in general, has been just $#%*$@, and I am finally FREE this weekend! Anybody going anywhere interesting I can tag along? Have more free Southwest tickets than I will ever use, so can hop a plane somewhere easily. If I don't hear from anyone, I'm thinkin' of doing Lost Coast Trail solo, or come along if you'd like.”

“wanderer...come to the midwest we are going to red river gorge!!!”

“Thanks for the invite Nic... Let's see, hmmmm... I can fly 6 hours to hike in the freezing cold, or, drive 3 to hike along one of the most gorgeous beaches next to the ocean, watch the whales migrate, take photo's of the blooming wildflowers, etc. Tough decision... lemme think on it!

Hey - did you hear about all the controversy re the rape at Sunrise Mall? I remember you talking about walking home after work & thought about you... scary deal!”

Wanderer the gorge is the most gorgeous place ever!!! It rivals the redwoods even and there are all kinds of cool rock arches and formations too boot. Its warmer in KY now, so you wouldnt freeze...but you would get wet with all the river crossings!”

“3 guys grabbed someone at 11:00 P.M.,,, the big deal was that the local police didn't release anything about it for a week!! People freaked out, like why in the world wouldn't you let us know that there were 3 scumbags on the loose that had grabbed someone right from the parking lot (I think on the north side next to Macy's) & raped her!!

Anyway, they haven't caught the yet and they're busily trying to explain away their actions (or, lack of action!!)”

“god, I always worried about being back ther at night. There was no security to escort you to the employee parking at night...and it was very creepy out there”

“Wanderer, the weather is supposed to hold, The Lost Coast will be in peak form (good form as compared to bad form, and when it's in bad form, it's in bad form). Wish I could go but it's spring skiing for me at Sugarbowl on Friday and hiking Pt. Reyes on Saturday.”

“Wish I could go to the Lost Coast with ya, but I'm off on a 10 day tomorrow. We will probably do the Lost Coast next month.

I'll cut a couple turns for ya.”

“Well, if y'all decide on somewhere in reasonable driving distance from Vegas, I would be delighted to try and join. This is still a good time of year to visit Death Valley, if you have a hankering to go there...”

“Hmmm, hadn't thought about Death Valley for this weekend but I HAVE been meaning to get down there. If I fly into Vegas could you drive us? I'll split the $$ of course, & bring you some of my world-famous dehydrated beef stew!”

“No problem to drive. Wow! World-Famous stew you say. I would be crazy not to accept the offer.
