Anyone????” 3:55:40 PM 3/18/04 Black Fork Mountain Trail “This is a great little trail for overnight backpacking. You need to take plenty of water as there is none on the trail, other than a nasty little frog pond around mile 2. The last 2 miles are not clearly marked, at least they were not in 1998 and 1999 when I last hiked. I tried to hike it in Jan. 2000 but it was close due to an ice storm that had taken down lots of trees. I hike about a mile of the trail and turned around. It looked like a disaster zone. Never seen anything like it. I'm sure the forest has recovered since. Tim Ernst has a nice review of this trail in one of his Ark. hiking books” 7:36:37 PM 4/14/04
