“Well... it took a little searching to find a transcript (not the bits published in various right wing sources) but I can't really say that what Dodd said about Byrd was racially insensitive. It certainly doesn't compare to someone saying that if Thurmond's segregationist presidential bid had succeeded, "we wouldn't have had all these problems over all these years."

BTW, Bill Frist praised Byrd at the same time. So did Senator DeWine and Lamar Alexander (all Republicans).”

Miller just looks at the mess the current crop has made of the Democractic Party and how many people they've chased away. He should be leading the party, not leaving it but it's an epiphany many of us have experienced.
But don't worry, Dems, your leaders are planning on getting the prohibitions on felon voting lifted so you'll be adding Democrats as they emerge from prison. They figure to be death-penalty opponents so that can only help the basic Demo theme which is killing babies and babying killers.
