Luckily, the Big Tuna gets bored after a year or two and goes back to broadcasting.

I find it interesting that while Parcells has turned teams around he hasn't won the big game since Belichek left as his D-Cord...

Redskins??

Now that Gibbs is back, maybe they will show some class.

I am trying to earn a commission by getting Daniel Snyder to enroll in the George Steinbrenner "How to buy a championship" class.

I liked the skins back in the days of Joe Heisman (oops Theisman), Art Monk, Charlie Taylor, Sonny JUrgenson and of course John "Mohawk" Riggens.

Once Gibb left, the team went to hell.

Daniel S has been trying for years to do that, Redhawk. But, like I tell the anti-Yankee faction constantly, the money is not going to guarantee you a championship by a long shot. If your players don't click and the chemistry just isn't there, and if their nunger feeds just their egos, then they are going home before the playoffs...

I saw several eagles when I was in Quetico.
If you hike down the Kansas river, you can see them wintering in the trees that hang over the river.

Hmmmmm, Sonny Jurgensen, Charlie Taylor, Jerry Smith, Bobby Mitchell......those boys were hot stuff.

Chris Hanberger was one hell of a middle linebacker.
His speciallty was "clotheslining" runners.
He was every bit as wild as Bill Romanowski or Mike Singletary.

Alright Iggles fans, it's crunch time now. Jeffrey won't renegotiate T.O.'s contract, and T.O. is worried about his family, financially.

So all you working stiffs, we're taking up a collection to help T.O. pay the kids' doctor bills. He's just a poor football player who doesn't make much money. If they'd pay him what he's worth, he'd be okay, but since they won't, he's depending on us.

Send your donations to:

T.O. Fund
1040 Easy Street
Philadelphia, Pa.

Remember fans, for just 25 cents a day, T.O.'s kids can eat the same soup Donovan McNabb's mom serves. Won't you please find it in your hearts to help T.O. feed his kids.

(Cut to video of T.O. with tears streaming down his face as he begs Lurie for a new contract)

its not all TO's fault ( i think he's a jerk ) but why shouldn't he hold out for every penny he can get - the owners do - look at the stadium deals and ticket prices.
Roam Around

The reason he should not hold out is that he signed a multi year contract and only one year has elapsed. He is under contract.

Well hell, if nobody's gonna donate, the poor kid will just have to play another year and hope for the best. Do any of you know how hard it is to catch a football with tears streaming down your face? Well, do you?

Instead of doing an end zone dance, he'll have to pass the hat when he scores.

What a bunch of ungrateful tightwads!

That ain't the way the owner's play. If they want to break a players contract, they do it all the time. Why is it up to the players to continually honor a contract the owners won't. TO had an awesome season last year, even factoring in the injury. He should shake them down, same as they will do to him when he gets older.

Fairness would require the owners to honor a contract, if they demand the players honor a contract.

I think this is the key part of that 'news' report:

Owens, one of the league's top receivers during his 11-year NFL career, is best known for wild stunts on the field and other publicity-seeking antics off it.

Naw.....not suicide.
He had the girlfriend with him.
Should he pass out, the person standing in front of him is going to call 911 and then T.O. will get the attention he wants with no lasting ill-effects.

Could just be a coverup for an illegal drugs overdose.

They will not fire him for a legal drug overdose. They sure can for illegal drugs.

Our Hero!
When he starred in the All TO Channel All The Time last year, a pizza guy delivered a bunch of pizzas to the house. Whoever answered the door gave the guy a tip. He counted out the money for the pizzas and left the tip on the doorstep.

I would think that if he really wanted to be dead, he's a guy that would have the resources to make that happen. Whether it's actually just him trying to get pubilicity or if he really needs some psychiatric help, who's to know?

Let's add a sensitive materanl side to this thing. The whole story has bothered me all day. Regardless of stunts in the past it is apparent that he needs help. It just goes to prove that no matter your success, wealth, or ability that isn't where happiness is found.

CNN Reports
-- Dallas Cowboys star Terrell Owens says "there was no suicide attempt" when he took pills that left him hospitalized.

See! There ya go. All this guy wants is attention. I hope the Eagles put a serious beating in on him.
Wounded Knee
2:47:00 PM

I gotta say I don't think he wanted this attention at all.

Basic gist of the story. He had an allergic reaction. His publicist called 911. He was unresponsive. Someone saw an empty bottle of pain pills and assumed it was a suicide attempt. Owens had actually seperated the pills into another container (which many people do). He was asked questions about his emotional state while he wasn't really lucid so he didn't really know what he was answering.

Someone writes up a raw police report that includes speculation about what happened, it gets leaked to the media and is blown completely out of proportion.

I really fail to see where TO was looking for attention. I see this more as a commentary on how out of control the media gets trying one up each other to get a story while competing in a 24 hour news cycle, and how so much wild speculation that has nothing to do with the truth gets out there.

"It's very unfortunate for it to go from an allergic reaction to a suicide attempt," he said.

Allergic reaction is possible, but in my experience that is more often a cover story for suicide attempts or accidental overdoses than it is an accurate description.

Tolerance for the high and pain numbing effects of opiates can increase faster than tolerance for the resperatory suppressing effects. Thus, the risk of accidental overdose can grow with long term dependence on opiates.

We do however now know that his stomach was not pumped which certainly would have happened in the case of a major overdose.

Bison, the stomach isn't always pumped. When an overdosing person has gone sufficiently long since ingestion stomach pumping can be omitted (this would also be the case if he had snorted or injected the drugs, but that sounds unlikely).

CB - My experience comes from doing psych and substance abuse consultations in hospital emergency rooms.
