snafu - The little snots are worse than me. I've taught them too well. They look at me like I'm trying to kill them if I ask them to carry the group water filter for a day. ;-)

We recently sold our house, which was under the final approach for the airport where the MD Air National Guard is stationed (Martin State Airport, MD). C-130's and Warthogs flying in all the time, the Warthogs often in formation drills. Loved it.

Ok, from lighters to aircraft. Love thread creep.

The Abrams tank is not invincible. It has weak points.

Most of the US tank casualties in Gulf War I, though, were due to friendly fire. I think that answers the question. The Apache also carries tank-killing firepower.

We have Warthogs flying out of Willow Grove Naval Air Station constantly, and they circle over my house when they're training. Those ugly little birds sure look pretty, but I think that's mostly because they're on our side. I'd sure hate to be the poor SOB they're hunting.

On the flip side, they are engineered to take hits and keep on flying. One pilot brought one back in Gulf War I that was shot all to hell and still made it home.

No snafu, I didn't fly in Bombers. I was in the Army, not the Air Farce or the Army Air Corpse!

I have a lighter like the candle lighter by Solo. The head extends about 3 inches, which makes it great for lighting stoves or starting fires. It has a piezoelectric start, and is refillable. No problems in 3 years of use. In the winter, I keep it in a pocket next to my body, and it always starts. Its a great addition to backpacking.

That sounds like the same one IB. Yes, but everybody has their mind made up and does not want to be bothered by facts.
