Most of the US tank casualties in Gulf War I, though, were due to friendly fire. I think that answers the question. The Apache also carries tank-killing firepower.

We have Warthogs flying out of Willow Grove Naval Air Station constantly, and they circle over my house when they're training. Those ugly little birds sure look pretty, but I think that's mostly because they're on our side. I'd sure hate to be the poor SOB they're hunting.

On the flip side, they are engineered to take hits and keep on flying. One pilot brought one back in Gulf War I that was shot all to hell and still made it home.”
