“Hopped on the mountain bike and hit the bike trail after work. Kinda coolish, but a very nice day! It was funny... under every place where a road goes over the trail, the trail dipped... and there would be a ton of mud on the trail. The bike has a lot of mud on it now, an amazing amount for a hard surfaced trail! lol Saw hawks, scared eight young jakes off the trail, flying toward the river... Oh yeah, and saw two bunnies. The bunnies are back, propogating I would imagine. hehehee Went 8 miles. No biggie, but so great to have the light to do it after work.” 7:33:02 PM 3/17/04 “I'm still waiting for my first good bike ride outside. I thought it would be this week, but we just got 5 inches of snow yesterday, so it will have to wait.” 7:37:47 PM 3/17/04 “The ONLY reason I am still sane (and some would argue that!) is that I often jump on my bike at lunchtime (my office is at home) and RIDE RIDE RIDE to de-stress. I go up & down the American River Bike trail, on a typical day I see egrets, herons, wild turkeys, mallards, geese, today a HUGE garter snake, more #$%@# squirrels than you can count, and, when they're spawning, salmon by the hundreds. Bike riding is fun, and I like to thik helps keep me "somewhat" fit for BP'ing!” 7:40:01 PM 3/17/04 “I look forward to getting back on the bike. Lizs, glad you were able to get out!” 7:57:56 PM 3/17/04 “oh, stop it!!!” 4:29:39 AM 3/18/04 “Oh, another thing. I like to get multiple use out of the backpacking gear, ya know. Since I knew I'd be getting water and mud splashed up on me, I wore my gaiters, which come to just below my knee. They worked well for the purpose. (And you can bet I wear the bike helmet when backpacking!!!! moooooooohahahaa)” 8:17:21 AM 3/18/04
