So Bad, They're Good
When I first heard these guys, I thought they sucked. Then, I saw the video and realized they're brilliant. They simply can't be serious, but walk a fine line that leaves you guessing, which is genius.

Watch the video for "I Believe in a Thing Called Love", second link from the bottom.. not the live performance, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I'm a huge fan of 80's music but I thought it was kinda cheesy. The singer can hit some pretty high notes but I think he over did it a little.
They sound like Queen was their main influence.

Also, with a name like "Darkness", I thought they'd sound more like Metal Church.

All the teenies in England LOVE them, so they MUST be good! ;-)

I'll reserve my judgment.

I haven't listened to the group, but I can tell ya one thing. I'm hearing a heck of a lot of 80s influenced music on the radio right now. A ton of new stuff. Thought I'd gone back two decades.

At last! An important thread!
Thank God hip hop rap is slowing down. I can find a couple of stations on the radio to listen to now.

Yeah, but I really think these guys are just a spoof. But they're so subtle aobut it, people think they're serious. You gotta admit, that's brilliant.

Artex - I haven't seen anything other than the one video discussed here. Is the rest of their stuff like it?

how about..
"the Flower Kings" or "Spocks Beard" or "The Tangent".

If you like Progressive Rock in the style of YES, ELP or Rennaisance...then these bands should interest.
