Veterans Stadium comes down Sunday at 7 a.m.

I will miss the ugly old gal. Looks like a flat tire; artificial turf sucked, sterile atmosphere inside; but lots of baseball and football memories.

I will be at the very first game in Citizens Bank Park on April 3 against Cleveland. A big Philly welcome to the Cit!

Hope they have a better first game than the Eagles did, Geo!

You didn't pour Jimmy Hoffa into your concrete, did you, Geo?

Nah, Dun! Joisey has him under Giants Stadium!

Another '60s multi-purpose stadium bites the dust(?)

And the taxpayers foot the bill (as usual) for the old stadium and the new?

Jimmy the H and the car in which he was shot were supposedly incinerated, according to one mobster's posthumous biographical account.

Kinda reminds me of that scene in Goldfinger, Geo! The music to it was aptly named, "A Pressing Matter." It showed a guy getting shot by Oddjob and then his Lincoln Continental goes through the auto crusher procedure with him in it...

We will never know for sure what happened to Hoffa, nor should we want to know, since knowing could result in a hasty exit from this life.

Hey, I thought we agreed no more death notices.

I have few sports memories from there, mostly because Philly teams aren't worth traveling to see but I'll always remember (through a haze) seeing Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac and Steve Miller there. It was a great stadium for concerts.

one lady said to the other lady...
can you go down on me...the reply was "it would be a pleasure".

She's gone forever. I hated that stadium, but many, many fond memories remain. It was impressive the way they fired the charges in a clockwise pattern.

Yes, I don't have the same warm, fuzzy feeling I had for Shibe Park. A lot of great sports memories in that stadium, though. In less than two weeks we start new memories. Looking forward to that!
