Today I climbed Mt Lawlor. Harrowing deal on the way down. Sippin' on a Corona and I'm glad to be back. Here's my journal entry:

Mt Lawlor: Between Heaven and Earth

Glad someone is getting out these days! Great photos and journal entry as always!

I was down your way last weekend,
the family and I visited Josh at Biola on Saturday then we all went to the Getty on Sunday before we headed back home.

I had never been to the Getty, it's a very beautiful place....loved the gardens!

As always, I really love the way you display your trips. Lots of time and creativity goes into it. If I ever make it to your neck of the woods, Your someone I'd like to hike with.

GREAT pics. Thanx.

I was swooning (not over YOU)--if only I could get my unemployed butt there.

Yesterday was a good day. I put the roses on her pillow and waited for her to find them on her own. I was in the other room listening when she found them. After a pause, they caught her breath with just a short laugh. 8)

walkindude - If you're up for it, a Yosemite trip in August is do-able. I've had my eye on the Yosemite HSC loop for while now.

windwalker - Hope all is well with Josh's studies. Biola is a great university. One of my most influential Pepperdine professors now teaches there. A couple of years ago it was he, in fact, who insisted that we spend an entire day at the Getty! How's that for coincidence?! Still need to do that.

Tango - You're most welcome. I'm glad to get this all out, really. There's much to see and do. Plus, what better way is there to capture these experiences and grow from them?

It would be fun to do a Yosemite trip this coming season. We can wrassle bears and all. 8)

Tekdude, Josh is doing well... he finished his first semester with a 3.5 GPA which is a relief....because the biggest fear coming from a small town High School is not being prepared enough for University level studies in chemistry, physics, Calculus, etc.

Oops, I wasn't ready to hit the send button!

I highly recommend the Getty, the architecture, gardens and art are all top notch!

This was Leslie's favorite painting at the Getty...

"Saint Matthew Writing the Epistle"

In person it is amazing how real the hands and facial features appear.

It is an awesome feeling to be standing in front of masterpieces from Monet, Renoir, Serat, Van Gough, etc.

Regarding the art. There's a passion there. You can feel it.

Ever hear of Albert Bierstadt? Apparently, he's this renowned Yosemite artist during its early years of discovery. I'll see if I can find some of his work.

Behold! The canvases of Albert Bierstadt.

The most glorious Yosemite Valley.

Remember this place? We snowshoed and camped up there on that ledge. Just not way back then. 8)

Ah, I love this thing about the wilderness and all of creation.
