Spring!!!

Anybody doing anything exciting to celebrate the arrival of Spring?

It seems that certain areas are ideal to go hiking/backpacking in the Spring because of the amount of blossoming, etc. that is visble..

Got any special Spring locations?”

“Time for the seasonal bath.”

“I spent the first day/night of spring hiking and sleeping in the snow and 40mph winds. I love Michigan! :-)”

“dogwoods and redbuds are starting to bloom here. spring ROCKS!”

“We had one day of spring--yesterday, upper 20's-low 30's and snow showers. Lot of whining going on by the people around me. I just figure it delays the misquito season!”

“It's a thought Mark. I was out cross country skiing up here (NW Wisconsin) about 3 weeks ago and saw 2 mosquitoes. Must have just gotten warm enough for a little hatch. Incredible.”

“You mean it's already spring? Hard to tell here on Florida's suncoast.”

“Florida, where it's bug season all year round...okay, okay, a good ocean breeze in the Keys sweeps them away and I'd certainly rather be there. Spring came in here in northcentral Wisconsin in the 20s with a lot of wind that pushed the windchill well below that. This morning I awoke to 14 degrees and scattered sunshine. Any spring flower that wants to show itself is going to have to deal with a good snow pack, though it is rumored to be heading into the 50s by mid week. Okay, sure, you betcha, eh?”

“NOT good news. Have the skeeters mutated so they're around all year? Geeze what are you Wisconsinites feeding 'em?”

“I think they get so much blood from the locals that their blood alcohol level is just a little too high to ever freeze out.”
