Thanks, DH and Tango! I enjoy doing this for him. Gives me a good day to day look at how he's doing. You know, the ups and downs one is bound to experience doing this thing long term! Pretty cool stuff, I think...

Hiking all day is one thing; writing is another. I'm not sure how often I'd care to hike all day and then make a journal entry. I appreciate those who do.

i do some journal entries when I hike solo, particularly if i make camp and get dinner before the sun goes down. it's part of my "alone time" process.

Journaling is a good thing and I'd like to think I'd do it. Just not certain of my personal energy level after a long day. We'll see.....

Favorite Line So Far...
"And I hoped he was right, as the sky was red. Finally, as the light was dying, LL Fuzzy hiked by without a stitch of clothing on, along with Stargazer and Sadie, thus making my day." Stormbringer (Crash! Bang!) as transcribed by Treebeard

im stuck in "i have lots and lots of money but no way to get to it hell". i asked for my a replacement debit card that i lost in pa to be sent to me on the trail, but they sent it to the wrong place, then i asked for a second replacement sent to my parents in indiana, and that got there fine, so i asked my dad to overnight it to the tree house (treebeard and mapleleaf) where im staying, but he priority mails it instead, so here i still am, waiting for my debit card. im in staten island, my nearest branch is in pittsburg, ive been off the trail since 7/10, im getting frustrated, and my trail progress has me a delaware water gap. when i get back on the trail im going to start at the ny/ct border, go to katahdin, meet my parents somewhere in maine near the end of the trail, then have them drop me off so i can do the section (ny/nj) that i missed, and ill probably do it south-bound. thats the plan, anyway. best laid plans of mice and men oft go awry.......

A few hours ago, I put Crash Bang on a train at Grand Central heading for Pughkeepsie, NY. He should be hitching a ride about now to Wingdale to pick up his stuff at the mail drop and head out on the trail. Good luck, Scott! Be safe!

Nah, I'm sure he's glad to be going back out there, and the rain will pass sooner or later (just probably not tonight or tomorrow...)

Good Luck CB! Maybe we can all meet up sometime in the fall around here when you come back to complete NY and NJ...
