Does anyone have an address for David so we can send him cards?” 8:13:33 AM 3/28/04 He's walking!!! “I received another update from David's sister today. She said that David is making great progress. The physical therapist is working with him now every day...he is able to walk with some assistance even!! He is able to carry on conversations somewhat and he is remembering those who have visited him over the past several days. They continue to wean him off of some of the meds and he sounds as if he is coming more and more back to life as each day passes. Now, if we can just get those pesky bandages off his hands so he can come back to TT >:o)” 1:30:34 PM 4/02/04 “Great news!” 1:31:42 PM 4/02/04 “More great news!” 1:31:55 PM 4/02/04 “great news! thanks AmyG!” 1:32:20 PM 4/02/04 “Great news!” 1:33:16 PM 4/02/04 “Fantastic.” 1:35:17 PM 4/02/04 “Screw TT. Thanks for the continuing great news, AmyG!” 6:46:44 PM 4/02/04 Great news! “Thanks” 6:58:22 PM 4/02/04 “As AmyG was posting about Pedxing, I was on my way to visit him. I had to be put on an "approved visitor" list by Ellen. He is showing some real signs of improvement. He has had skin grafts to his hands, chest, legs, feet and ears. The only place he is still bandaged are from the knees down on his legs and his feet. He was sleeping in a reclining chair when I got there and I just let him sleep. He woke up after a little bit and said he was really glad that I came by to visit. While able to carry on a conversation, it is still very difficult for him. I think the medications are still having quite an affect on him. He has received a commendation (sp?) from the City of Cambridge for his heroism and that is posted on the bulletin board in his room. I told him we all carried a picture of him on the latest trip to Baxter State Park so he would be with us in spirit. He was quite happy with that thought. Ellen printed the picture of Ped and what I wrote on the back to stash in the bunkhouse. She put that up on his bulletin board. He even tried to get up out of his chair to get it until his nurse saw him going for it and yelled at him. I brought the laptop because I drove down to Boston from work (skipped out this afternoon). I showed him some pictures of our trip to Baxter State Park. He saw lots of them, but kind of drifted in and out because he just had his medications. All the nurses like him and told me how great he was doing. He fell asleep and I waited until he woke up and said goodbye. I told him I'd be back to visit him before he went home from the hospital. I stayed for just over two hours. I told him how much everyone at TT is thinking of him and keeping him in their prayers. Pedxing will remain in the burn center at Mass. General for up to two more weeks. He will then go to Spaulding Rehabilitation at Mass. General for anywhere from 2-4 weeks, depending on how he's doing. I talked to Ellen after I visited with Ped and she told me how much it meant to her for me to visit. She said she was sure it meant a lot to Pedxing, too. Please keep Pedxing and his family in your thoughts and prayers.” 7:12:26 PM 4/02/04 “thanks for sharing, ski...it's good to hear he's doing so well!” 7:23:07 PM 4/02/04 “Thank you for the great news. Yes, and thank you for sharing your visit with us.” 8:03:29 PM 4/02/04 Jump to Page << prev
