Using children to carry out attacks or shielding themselves with civilians is nothing new to these scum...

We knew it was simply a matter of time. Sense they have started using women too. Where the hell do they get this 72 virgins crap from? It ain’t in the Quran.
These people are victims of their own ignorance and the Islamic puppet masters that seek to use them for their own political agenda 100 times more than they ever could be from Israel.

"its a form of brainwashing"

It does make me thankful that I have to put up with being bombarded by our media rather than having a state media like most Arab countries. Better to have too many view points than only one.

Brainwashing?

Wasn't the kid kinda simple?

They musta used the quick wash/dry cycle.

Sure it is. It's prevalent in that culture.

Whatever else we may think about it, cultures of death certainly do exist. Those cultures cannot be looked at through the same lense as other cultures. Sorry, but there is a point at which civilization must draw the line.

The 72 virgins are other homicide bombers! They're still virgins back there!! LOL

This kid was on the headline of the Daily News this morning. I only saw it in passing. I thought I saw something about receiving 22 dollars for this monumental effort.

That's a little over 30 cents a virgin

“A river of honey, a river of wine and 72 virgins. Since I have been studying Koran I know about the sweet life that waits there,” he said."

Wouldn't that have to be non-alcoholic wine?

Blaming ALL people of one group for the actions of a few?

You know what that is.

What if they do get 72 virgins? I might want in!

I'm not so sure it is a culture of death. I do know the world ignored the Palestinians plight (2nd class citizens in your own country?) until they resorted to terrorism.

So who's initially at fault?

Tilt, I was looking over the posts and frankly. I don't where any one of us gave the impression that we were advocating the oppression of innocent Palis. I think it is pretty clear that all involved were bashing the terror organizations here...

Hell, I was such a horney little peckered at 16 I would have done anything to get laid including strapping on a bomb vest. LOL!

And what’s so great about 72 virgins? Ever been with a virgin? They haven’t learned anything yet and then there’s the mess. Now if they said you’d get 72 whores…count me in!

“and whats changed?"

Well, I’m married now so the only reason I’d strap on a bomb is to get OUT, not in. People ask me how long I’ve been married and I say, “Long enough I don’t look both ways before crossing the street.”. LOL!

This and the fact I don’t masturbate 5 times a day now (down to 2).

I know your opinions on this subject, phaedrus.

I remember the photo of the Palestinian child who was killed when he and his father was caught in the crossfire. And I remember your reaction. I was pretty shocked.

There's nothing to debate here.

I didn't mean to imply anything about what anyone else said, TB.

I don't remember what you're talking about exactly, but if you're implying that I condone the killing of innocents on either side, you've got it wrong. The pervading culture of the palistinian people is what I was talking about, and if that means each individual of of that group to you, then you should look at yourself before you look at me as far as being racist.

Further, Bearmagnet, the idea that a person can be driven to such extremes that targeting civilians is OK or even understandable is as repugnant an idea as I've seen put forth on this board.

Wow Phaedrus. I'm not trying to offend. I think there is a bias towards certain terrorists. No one hears about the "evil" IRA anymore. Who, IMO, have degenerated into street thugs. No one ever bashed terrorist tactics in South Africa, Eritrea, East Timor, etc. Are Muslim terrorists an easy target?

Bearmagnet, when those guys were on top of the headlines, we were overrun with stories of their doings. It's just that since 9/11, the media focus has shifted. I don't thing those others were ignored at all...
Treebeard

Like I said, Tilt, you don't want to get into this, so don't. That means not calling people who have an actual perspective on the issue racist.

Israeli settlers steal Palestinian homes at gunpoi
Gunmen evict family at dawn from home in King David's city

Israeli settlers use force to take over homes belonging to Palestinians in east Jerusalem

Chris McGreal in the City of David
Friday March 19, 2004
The Guardian

The first Ruad Ajlouni knew that the Israelis were moving in was as he awoke in the early hours to find a group of armed men standing over his sleeping children.
The 30 or so Jewish activists had quietly clambered on to the terrace roof of the three-storey apartment block in run-down Arab east Jerusalem, drilled their way through the locks of the outside doors and surrounded the Ajlounis before they had a chance to stir.

"They said they had bought the flat and were moving in," said Mr Ajlouni. "At three o'clock in the morning. I said: 'Good for you. Show us the documents and I will help you move the furniture'."

But there were no deeds, only weapons. Within a few minutes, the Ajlounis and their five children, the youngest just 18 months old, were out of the door. The furniture followed.

The rest of the story is here:

I don't know about that tree. The IRA has always had some type of "covert" US support. South Africa was deemed a "worthy" cause, Eritreans were fighting communist, and no one gave a damn about E. Timor.

BTW - Indoneasian slaughter of E. Timor civillians was no less a crime than Cambodias genocide under Pol Pot and was occuring at the same time. Indonesia was an ally so it was "OK".

I understand terrorism b/c it works. I'm just trying to be realistic about it. The IRA & the PLO got the US involved only through terrorism.

I apologize for any offense I'm causing.

How many Africans had to hack each other to death before it became an item on the Evening News in this country?

That's another issue....

Some IRA have definitely degenerated into thugs. I haven't seen the movie, but I saw a memorial type program about Veronica Guerin at the National Press Club. The ones who were simply criminals are now like an Irish version of La Cosa Nostra... drugs, loansharking, prostitution, protection rackets -- you name it.
Tilt

I'm not offended by you, Bear.

Now, if it's making headlines we are talking about, then you should know that the media is going to print what will sell papers. So, the plights of certain people will definitely be put over that of others.

If it's who the U.S. backs we are talking about, then we should also be aware that we have a long history of backing the wrong people. Do I need to mention anyone besides bin Laden here???

Tilt

Whoa. If you're talking about a government slaughter of its people or a civil war or ethnic cleansing type situation - they are separate from terrorism.

I'd be happy to get into those topics, too, but they aren't the point of discussion here.
Phaedrus
11:45:13 AM

And again with the pot-shots, tilt?

It's because you can't justify your moral-equivalency argument.
Phaedrus

Why is govenment slaughter of civillians different from terrorism? It is, in fact, terrorism - a means of keeping the people in line through terror, no?
bearmagnet

Tilt justn't have to justify anythning. Just read the article I posted. There all terrorists and bad people there on both sides. Except you don't read about the Isreli terrorists in the US papers.
