Dear President Bush:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from you, and try to share that nowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an
abomination... End of debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how to follow them...

1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is, how do I tell? I
have tried asking, but most women take offense.

4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a
pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2
clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?

6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree.
Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?

7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?

8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?

9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and
blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? - Lev. 24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn
them to death at a private family affair, as we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for
reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

The President is a Christian, that is his faith, and like other people of various faiths it shapes his values and attitudes. Redhawk's use of scripture shows a very deep misunderstanding of Christianity and the Bible, if as I take it, His intent is to link the Presidents political positions to his faith. Please develop an understanding of the relationship of the Old and New Testaments before the next time you start throwing quotes from Leviticus around in a Christian context.

No JO the point is redhawk is attacking the President's position based on Leviticus. Is this an effective attack, yes it affects the thinking of those who don't understand the President's faith. The President is not an Orthodox Jew, why on earth would his position on gay marriage be tied to Leviticus? If you think it is please find a quote where the President references Leviticus as part of his objection to gay marriage.

1. Thou shaly covet Pennsy's Gear
2. Thou can kill, if it involves bad people that may or may not be an imminent threat to you, or that may or may not posses WMD's
3. You can eat pork!
4. Thoe can take my name in vain, if you are talking about a political opponent, and the mics aren't on.
5. Thoe shalt not lie, but you can mislead all you want!
6. Shellfish - NO LIMIT!
7. All religions are evil, except this one.
8. Thuo shall work on the Sabbath, as long as you don't get double time for it so your boss can profit more.
9. Covet thy neighbor's goods, and if your neighbor has more, it's OK to give them a tax cut.
10. Thou shalt watch "The Passion of the Christ", and bring the kids!

Nobody becomes President for personal gain. Why the hell would you spend four or eight years making 250K a year in the highest stress job in the world, when you could be sitting back making millions?

Ego gain maybe, but not monetary.

Clinton probably came out ahead with book royalties and speaking fees afterwards, But Bush and Kerry certainly would both be more well served financially by not being President.

would you attack the religious beliefs of native americans?

how bout muslims?

hindu?

having a base upon which you form your moral values is not a bad thing. how can we be expected to be good if there is no good? what rules would you prefer to follow? satan's? don't believe in the devil either? ok then, it's just you.....you decide what we should believe in, what's beyond this life.

"Now the fate of the republic doesn't hang on two words [under
God], but still this is no small matter. We've seen the steady
erosion of Christian influence in American life over the years
and a growing hostility to those who hold that the one, true
sovereign God called us into being and reigns over us. The Court's
decision will be one more step toward the official establishment
of secularism as American religion. And it will tell much about
our values, humility, and our capacity to love and respect one
another." --Charles Colson on last week's U.S. Supreme Court
hearing of the Pledge of Allegiance case

Being buddhist, I believe people are naturally "good". Absent any formal belief system, people will tend to gravitate toward those behaviors which exemplify "goodness". In my opinion, the declining importance of Christianity in America is rather promising news for the happiness of this country. Western religions tend to hide the path to happiness from people, in exchange for an uneasy comfort.

I am an equal opportunity attacker. I am hostile to anyone that may exclude another for there belief structure, however. You seem to exclude all others except Christians.

The Courts decision might mean that dwight shouldn't have shoved that crap in there to begin with!
