In 2000, Aragoncillo worked on the staff of then-Vice President Al Gore. When interviewed by Philippine television, he remarked how valued Philippine employees were at the White House.

"I think what they like most is our integrity and loyalty," Aragoncillo said.

Yeah, real loyal ain't ya?

I think what is more important is how this low class spy was able to work on the staff of 2 VP's and work for the FBI. If he can do it that easily why couldn't someone else who has a lot more skills be able to do it.

If you read the story he wasn't spying until the Bush administration. Seems that the Clinton administration kept a better eye on the help than Bush was able to.

I don't think we can score this one against Bush. We don't know when the guy started spying, and he did come in under Clinton.

I'm happy to bash Bush when I have a case and I have no problem givining Clinton credit where he has earned it. Bush proves there are far worse things than having a lying slut as President. (for example, when people approached him about terrorist plots for the millenium, he responded and people were caught - Bush and company kept on blowing off Richard Clark and his warnings).

You don't "keep a better eye on the help" you vet people for clearance and then you let them do their job, you can't keep an eye on everything that goes in and out, then you'd need someone to keep an eye on the people who are keeping an eye on the people who are keeping.............

I don't really blame the Clinton admin. either, sometimes there just is no blame. The guy probably was clearable at the time which is all you can ask for. At some point he had a revelation and decided that spying was the right thing to do. Yes the FBI tries to keep on top of espionage but they can't be looking at everyone with a clearance all the time. Sorry but I don't see any blame here (except of course on the part of the spy), it's one of those things that's just going to happen every once in awhile no matter how much you try to prevent it.

Most of the spies who are US citizens and get caught held security clearances.

Very realistic view, Bison. And well put. Can't argue with that!

But #&%!$ seems to happen a lot more frequently with Bush in the White House.

Sure, when "#&%!$" is defined by you as anything that Bush does, of course it's going to happen more frequently.

How many administrations have presided over spy scandals, one actually in the White House and another one a case of revealing identity of a CIA agent?

How many presidents have gone to war under false pretenses?

How many presidents have been goofing off when Americans were known to be dying in a natural disaster?

How many presidents nominate unqualified cronies for important jobs?

How many presidents have presided over $500 billion budget annual shortfalls?

How many presidents scare the public with terror alerts every time he's in political trouble?
