Death Valley - Wildrose Peak & Manly Beacon
Hiked up Wildrose Peak and Climbed Manly Beacon in Death Valley this
past weekend with Sooz (Trailtrekker), Earnie (Kokopelli)and Sara (Getagrip). Wildrose was a fun hike,
but climbing Manly Beacon was great!!! The colors and shapes there
make it one of my favorite areas of the valley. Photos at

Mtflyer, what great photos. You sure have some talent with that camera. Your photos tell a story in and of themselves.

I was amazed at how one mountain so high and so close could be blanketed with snow, but not the one you were standing on. That some how there was a divide in the climate that caused that. That you stood at the edge of that.

You really do take great shots.

Be encouraged. Shine strong. And everything is going to be okay, you know?

Peace \o/

Dang! My secret is now revealed -- I am a girl :) Ah, well, I just love DV, so any excuse to get out there, especially with other hikers... It was a great weekend.
After the others took off on Sunday (they had a longer drive home) I hiked Desolation Canyon. Although pretty short (maybe 3 mi r.t.) it was great. Everything you want from a canyon hike with a simply awesome view over the Artist's Drive area at the end. And, absolutely no one else around. Highly recommended if you have a little time at the end of a DVNP trip.

Well, would you call a beacon feminine?

OK, not really a secret. I just like to get people's reaction when they first discover I'm not even the gender they thought. Harmless amusement.

Now that the secret is out....which one are you in the photos?

And BTW...you had me fooled....when I first saw your handle....I just assumed your were a male....but obviously that's not the case.....
