History Repeats Itself
When did they start putting drugs in the water?

During the 80’s, the mantra of the economically conservative labor unions, and their supporters, was “Be American, Buy American!” People didn’t listen. They bought better-built, cheaper cars from Japan. This free trade didn’t hurt our economy during the 80’s and 90’s. It helped to raise the standard of American-made cars and it helped to raise Japan’s standard of living. Why do we hear the same tired mantra from the economic conservatives like Kerry, and his supporters, today?

There aren’t many blacksmiths, tailors, cobblers, or coopers left in today’s economy. They can’t compete in a broad market. The only constant is change. Can someone explain to me exactly what are the long-term economic advantages of protecting jobs in this country? And how best should government go about CREATING jobs without controlling the means of production?

Oops!

It appears as if the drugs were in my water.

This is a repeat thread.

I needed to check the little flaming thingy box in order to view these threads. Nevermind….
