But the ones with more WOULD be contributing more than everyone else because they MAKE more. Someone who makes $1,000,000 would be paying far more than someone making $30,000 but at the same time they’d be paying the same percentage. Plus closing the corporate loopholes would raise tax revenues also, wouldn’t they?

The whole concept of penalizing someone for no other reason than the fact they are successful just seems to me to be counter to everything this country was founded on and that’s equality.”

If there is a %10 flat tax that leaves the first person with only $90 not enough to survive, while the second person will end up with $900 more than enough to survive. But to answer your question…I guess right off the bat I’d have to avoid the obvious answer of, the person with $100 needs to improve their job choices or improve themselves so they can improve their job situation. LOL! This would be suggesting that taxation should be based upon subjective circumstances. Another simplified example might be this…

You’re standing in line at the check out at the grocery store. You have budgeted yourself and you even use coupons so that you can provide for yourself. The person in front of you comes up $10 short. Should you have to pay the $10?

And if someone for some reason can not provide for themselves I am a firm believer in subsidized governmental support for those deserving. SUBSIDIZED mind you.”
