Listen to it at the library or something on your lunch hour.” 1:30:20 AM 6/08/04 “Long story short: Boortz didn't sound very convincing; however, if I was Al Franken wanting to point out lies and inconsistencies, I would choose something more important than whether or not Boortz had ever invited me to the show.” 12:44:34 AM 6/09/04 “Air America, Still Plagued By Shaky Finances Maybe it'll catch on, maybe not. So far, not so good.” 5:28:46 PM 6/21/04 “Keep talking us up Buck! From a 1998 Columia Journalism Review story on the launch of Fox News: For Murdoch, playing the FNC chip is a huge gamble. CNN, in its eighteenth year, is a pillar on the international news scene, and a cash cow for its owner, Time Warner -- the world's biggest media conglomerate. MSNBC is the privileged offspring of behemoth parents, GE and Microsoft. Those two cable networks were duking it out vigorously for a share of the relatively small all-news audience -- with CNN comfortably the world champ -- when FNC entered the ring as a brash challenger. It's looking at losses for the two years 1997 and 1998 of $150 million, and won't be operationally solvent (say its proprietors) until sometime in 2000, with years to go beyond that before News Corp. recoups its investment.” 6:07:20 PM 6/21/04 “I ain't talkin' nuttin' up or down, just sayin' Error America is having severe problems with cash flow, making payroll, and senior management leaving. Not being profitable for a while and taking financial losses is no biggie and is to be expected for a start-up. But major discrepancies in bank accounts, deception, having senior management leave, investors pull out, as they struggle in their market is a different situation than merely launching a business and taking their expected financial losses. But then again, they may pull through despite all this, time will tell.” 6:20:57 PM 6/21/04 “Well I sure hope they make it because it's entertaining and they've been doing a great job of exposing the evil-doers. This article describes ousted investor, Evan Cohen, as a "former Republican political operative from Guam". There are those who say he and Sorensen were acting in bad faith and wanted Air America to fail.” 7:12:57 PM 6/21/04 “"Air America, Still Plagued By Shaky Finances" Not to meantion shaky content.” 8:33:08 AM 6/22/04 “Virtually all broadcasting ventures lose money in their intiial stages. That's why the owners have to be able to operate in the red for a substantial amount of time. This is nothing new in the business.” 8:36:47 AM 6/22/04 “Nigal, have you listened to Air America radio?” 8:48:10 AM 6/22/04 “Nigal can't handle the truth ! !” 8:53:19 AM 6/22/04 “Handle this Tom. LOL! Why, is Air America some how differnt than the every day liberal prat I always hear?” 9:07:50 AM 6/22/04 “So I guess you never listened to Air America Radio. Man, you really paint yourself to be a fool Nigal, it's pretty sad.” 11:03:56 AM 6/22/04 “The problems with Air America are not your standard red ink that's expected from a start-up until they become profitable. No, it's mismanagement, lack of funding, distorted investment capital figures, management turnover, bad decision making, disgruntled employees and investors, shaky distribution channels, etc. It's not your average, "things are going as planned and we should be profitable by such and such a date". From a purely business side, it's a jumbled, mismanaged, resource exaggerated mess. They may pull out of it if their ratings are in their market, but even that seems to be in question. I'm surprised George Soros hasn't bailed them out with a few beeeeellion American dolluhs.” 1:12:24 PM 6/22/04 “"So I guess you never listened to Air America Radio. Man, you really paint yourself to be a fool Nigal, it's pretty sad." So you are saying their content is not the regular liberal crap? How so?” 1:19:33 PM 6/22/04 “I listened to it on the radio. Nigal, it's WORSE than the regular liberal crap. I was actually laughing, and they were serious! It's conspiratorial, it's angry, it's total propaganda... it's liberalism. But hey, if they can latch on to a market of like-minded people and be successful, more power to 'em!” 1:26:39 PM 6/22/04 “I meant I listed to it on the internet, not the radio. It doesn't play on the radio around here.” 1:27:13 PM 6/22/04 “I haven't heard it. I get a little news from NPR in the morning and listen to music radio in the car. I walk to work and listen to the cicadas.” 1:29:43 PM 6/22/04 “NPR and Error America are interchangeable programming.” 1:30:53 PM 6/22/04 “"Nigal, it's WORSE than the regular liberal crap." My point exactly. If Pat Robertson started his own radio station I wouldn't have to hear it to know what the content would be. It'd be the same content as his other outlets. Same for the liberals. "But hey, if they can latch on to a market of like-minded people and be successful, more power to 'em!" Very true. This is probably why it can't make it in the non-cosmopolitan areas where the bulk of America lives.” 1:36:45 PM 6/22/04 “looks like they did alot of lying to investors and maay even ne headed for litigation for outright fraud. it's actually silly to thik that liberals need a voice on radio because they have all the venues completely saturated already. TV, news, movies, music industry, educaation...all lean HARD to the left. i could go on....but i'll spare you all ...” 1:37:33 PM 6/22/04 “Anyone who listened to Error America and liked it would be twice as smart as they are now and still be absolutely stupid.” 1:44:09 PM 6/22/04 “You guys are really threatened by this, aren't you? That's so adorable.” 8:27:22 PM 6/22/04 “Buck it IS on the radio "around here". It's 1240 AM.” 8:40:08 PM 6/22/04 “I agree the programing has some problems. Could be more interesting. But when hearing the drivel from Rush or Hannity, air america at least is not a republican party propaganda machine” 8:50:54 PM 6/22/04 “"But when hearing the drivel from Rush or Hannity, air america at least is not a republican party propaganda machine" Wow, you almost had me believing AA has no political bent. Everyone thinks Rush and Hannity are some kind of republican sponsered radio program. they are the #1 and #2 talk radio shows for a reason...they actually get people to listen. Hell, even that wing nut Savage has a bigger following than AA. And it just drives the libs nuts.” 8:02:59 AM 6/23/04 “Franken beat Rush in the NYC market Nigal. When they are on hundreds of stations, they'll bury the hate mongers.” 10:19:12 AM 6/23/04 “"But hey, if they can latch on to a market of like-minded people and be successful, more power to 'em!" Sure, like Flamebaugh latched onto a market of like, mindless people.” 10:24:10 AM 6/23/04 “NYC is lib town. If they can't shove it down your throat there than they really are bad.” 10:26:50 AM 6/23/04 “lmao @ Ultrapecker! Man, you're a regular Comedy Central!” 10:29:25 AM 6/23/04 “That New York City is an evil place. You heartland hillbillies should stay home,. You know all there is to know about NYC from Flamebaugh and Insannity.” 10:32:12 AM 6/23/04 “You use "hillbillies" like it's a bad thing.” 5:05:27 PM 6/23/04 “Hanitty uses wave the flag. McCarthy did that too. Come to think of it so did Hitler.” 9:43:20 AM 6/24/04 “Ya, if you love your country and are proud of your country and wave the flag around to show your support of this great country, which represents freedom and liberty and justice for all, certainly you secretly admire Adolph Hitler. I read ya.” 10:11:58 AM 6/24/04 Hillbillies ? “Its like being Polish and telling Polish jokes. I gots kin from Wes' Varginnny and Wes'ern Merlin on DaddyO's side of the family, so I like to poke a little fun. My mom's side of the family is Minnesota Square Heads. Flatlanders and hillbillies........I guess that makes me a "foothiller".” 10:43:57 AM 6/24/04 “"Franken beat Rush in the NYC market Nigal." Bawhawhaw! Yeah, so? That's like trying to use the fact there are gays in California as a stat. NYC is not all of America or even a good example or cross section.” 6:04:29 AM 6/26/04 “Everyone thinks Rush and Hannity are some kind of republican sponsered radio program. they are the #1 and #2 talk radio shows for a reason...they actually get people to listen. - Nigal 08:02:59 AM 06/23/04 NYC is the #1 media market in the country and WABC (Rush, Hannity, et al) was the most listened to talk radio station in America. If Franken can beat Rush in his biggest market it seems to support the viability of Air America's business plan.” 10:30:33 AM 6/26/04 “Good news for South Floridians! July 10, 2004 The game is over for Fox Sports Radio. WRFX (940-AM) will switch its format from sports to politics when it joins the Liberal Talk Radio network Monday.” 10:54:08 AM 7/13/04 “BOOOO-yah!” 10:56:22 AM 7/13/04 “Dang! So now they are reaching, what?, .01% of the number Rush and Hannity reach? They are quite the threat to conservatism, are they? I'm beginning to get worried...” 3:32:34 PM 7/13/04 “"Air America ... destined to fail. Bad idea, bad management. Al Franken won't last till the election." - stratdewd 7:13:36 AM 4/16/04 (click for link)”7:34:05 PM 10/31/04 “You forgot to mention that Franken is beating Limbaugh in most markets where both are present.” 12:04:58 AM 11/01/04 “'AIR AMERICA' RATINGS TURBULENCE IN NY CITY: Surprising many observers who expected it to shine during election season, all-liberal upstart WLIB (1190 AM) -- base station for Al Franken and Janeane Garofalo -- actually headed south, shedding 15% of its summer audience to finish fall at 24th place in just-released ARBITRONS...” 2:34:07 AM 1/12/05 “Now that Treebeard is back on the air, I expect the ratings to drop even more for AA. ;-)” 3:23:21 AM 1/12/05 “I keep telling you, I'm not a liberal as you put it. I'm a throwback in time! :)” 7:24:01 AM 1/12/05 “SS, it starting to become a troll. Start something then leave. Kind of like his buddy Buddha Bear.” 7:46:16 AM 1/12/05 “Don't all ratings drop in the summer? AA has as much impact as a fart in a hurracain.” 8:13:02 AM 1/12/05 “yes Nigal they do. That is why I am calling SS a troll. Notice how many threads he is starting lately then not posting to them again. SS and BB sitting in a tree....lol” 8:14:35 AM 1/12/05 “Sundance carries the show on cable/dish. I watched it one evening. I fully understand why it has low ratings. LOL” 8:15:27 AM 1/12/05 “Limbaugh dumped for liberal show BRATTLEBORO — A southern Vermont-based radio station will trade in the rhetoric of Rush Limbaugh and other conservative talk show hosts for the liberal commentary of Air America next week. WKVT-AM 1490 in Brattleboro will replace four of its weekday syndicated conservative talk shows on Jan. 17 with programs from the fledgling liberal radio network Air America, which launched in March. The station will be the second in Vermont to broadcast Air America programs, which include shows hosted by comedian Al Franken and actress Jeanne Garofalo. <snip> The Air America programs will replace daily radio shows hosted by Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Howie Carr and Joy Brown, Case said. "This is the 'clearing the air' campaign," Case said. "These new shows will be a better fit for the area." <snip> Air America Radio launched in March, and despite a rocky start marked by fired executives and bounced checks, the network has expanded to more than 40 markets across the country. It is also available on two satellite radio networks and over the Internet. <snip> WKVT management had been considering the change for several months, Case said. Recently, when word leaked of the possible lineup change, the station received nearly 150 e-mails supporting a move to Air America's liberal programming, he added. "We've received between 15 and 20 more since the announcement thanking us," he said. Starting Monday, WKVT-AM will also add the liberal-leaning "Ed Schultz Show." Combined, there will be a total of eight hours of liberal talk shows on the station, a majority of it coming from Air America. <snip>” 9:50:59 AM 1/13/05 “Vermont All that needs to be said. ;-)” 9:52:50 AM 1/13/05 Jump to Page << prev
