I thought it was a little suspect when I noticed the artist's rendering of the "abductor" bore an amazing resemblance to her dad...

It really chaps my a$$ when people pull these stunts and pull the police off of real crimes.

She's either 1) Attention-seeking or 2) Gonna bring home bad grades and wanted an excuse.

This is the second time she's reported being assaulted or abducted...

I've never seen the police in Columbus stop a real crime or find the criminal. Security at my old job caught a guy that had repeatedly broken into cars, over 50, and what did the police do? Nothing.

if anyone wants to abduct her now, they could probably get away with it.

Latest Update...
From AP news;

Audrey Seiler, a 20-year-old sophomore at the University of Wisconsin, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of obstructing officers. Each charge carries up to nine months in jail and a $10,000 fine.

I can see a temporary insanity plea coming.

"Obstructing officers" is a very widely misused charge. My neighbors' boyfriends' daughter (14) took one of their cars joyriding. The left tail light was out and a cop decided he was gonna pull her over. She ran. She made it to the house where she came skidding to a stop (saw it all), hopped out of the car and bolted into the house. The cop slid to a stop beside the car successfully ripping the door off in his pursuit. He then chased her into the house. The neighbors daughter, not involved, walked to the door to see what ws going on. The officer grabbed her and threw her to the ground where another officer that just arrived hopped out and cuffed her and charged her with "obstructing justice" or some crap like that. She was not doing any such thing, she was simply investigating all the noises she was hearing. I testified as a witness for her twice. The Hilliard (local courts) were going to hold her accountable despite my, and my roommates, witness of the account. Her lawyer had to have the case moved to Columbus where they let her off. It's crap like that that pisses me off. They just wanted to charge her with something because she was in the same house. What a load of bull#&%!$.

On the news last night a man was trying to sue the Columbus Police for damages. He was showing his car to a black man who was interested in purchasing it and one of the neighbors called the police and reported a domestic dispute. The police then drove their car into the car for sale, hopped out and cuffed both men. They did over $1000 to the car--all of which the man selling the car has to pay for because Columbus has some law that says the city is not responsible for damage done to any vehicles in an "emergency situation." He's trying to sue them over it but according to the news he will probably lose.

lots of those guys aren't to bright, especially in the smaller towns.

Some of them though, are excellent. I wouldn't take that job for nothin! Even the not so bright ones would probably take a bullet to save any one of us.

Its a shame they get a little carried away sometimes.

The city should have to pay for the guys car and probably recoup from the neighbor that freaked out and called the cops for no reason.

All I know of the Wisconsin case is what I've read here. Now, it's early and all so maybe my brain is just not functioning quite right, but HOW was she reported abducted? Did she call it in herself on a cell phone or something? Or was she just missing, so neighbors, friends or family called it in?

Just wondering........
