Boy Scout Uniforms

“Anyone has any boy scout uniforms that they want to give a way cheap????


Bryan is 13 (about a size 14)
Cameron is 11 (about a size 12)

I am really in need of shorts, but shirts and the longer pants are needed too.”

“A lot of troops have a "troop closet" where the older kids give the unis they outgrow, did you ask the Scoutmaster about such a thing?”

“he buys the stuff from goodwill, and doesn't have anything in Bryan's size right now. Both pants(camerons' and bryans) are too short.

Cameron got a shirt that will fit for a couple of month.

The shorts: Oh boy, can you spell Village people???

Way too short. I know they are a bit shorter then regular shorts, but those are the older versions and are REALLY short.”

“The old style was a little shorter than most people would want to wear now.

I'm pretty close to having the same problem with Alex.”

“Dang, I was all ready to give one away. I don't think a XXL shirt and 36" shorts will work for those kids.”

“I actually got a couple of sets, worked for the BSA for a couple of years. I'm definately going to get back into scouts in a few years, but I don't think I'll ever need more than one uniform ever again.

Check with your local scout office. Sometimes they have some stuff sitting around.”

“I have a size 16 short sleeve tan boy scout shirt and a size 10 long sleeve blue cub scout shirt. Or however that goes. They were on the way to goodwill, but if anyone want them, I'll put 'em in the mail ...

I know, the uniforms are so expensive. I an now a Asst scoutmaster and a president of a Venture Crewm, but I refuse to buy a green shirt. I'm not paying 60 dollars for a #&%!$ I will bearly wear.”

“I've spotted them at thrift stores and vintage stores. I am sure you will have some luck by asking around.”

In the meantime I'll check the triftstores today for shorts :) Yupp, those uniforms are way to expensive.”

“oh, I don't need the blue cub scout shirt :) The size 16 short sleeve is perfect. Hubby just said that's what Bryan wanted, about a size 16.”

“I know free is better, but I used ebay to accumulate our cub scout pack's shirts. Sometimes they are pretty cheap. I also lucked out buying a brand new one with tags at the thrift store for 25 cents. I'd offer you our shirts, but they're only cubs and tigers.”

“HPM, Cameron is a 16 (LOL) and Bryan a 25. If I buy regular cloth I normally always have to get a slim because waist and hight don't match. So, I know if I get some shorts I'll probably have to take them in in the waiste a little.

“I've been drafted to be a Boy Scout adult leader. As an old Scout from way back my old uniforms no longer fit. I need a shirt to begin with. I'm looking for the "old" style green uniform shirts. They can be 100% cotton or polyester blend. They can be long sleeve or short. The catch is they need to be XXL (50" chest)6'-3" height. Not interested in the new style uniforms. If you have something or know of someone who does please let me know. Be glad to buy it or anything that goes with it.”
