What did you do with your extra hour?View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 25 of 25 messages posted.
“In the morning, with the temp in the low 40's and a slight breeze, I loaded my new pack with heavy junk and headed out for a trial cruise. The site of my little hike was my favorite ski trail of last winter. Snow was mostly gone, some dry and some muddy. Lots of tracks, no deer. I hiked through the morning, up and down lots of hills. Poised on the top of one I remembered zooming down that very hill just a few short weeks ago (well at least it seemed like zooming to me). I chuckled as I trudged through the mud. After declaring the trial run a success, I returned home, scrounged the refrigerator for leftovers and made a pot of chicken soup. After 2 bowls I grabbed my canoe and headed for the Namekagon for my initial float of '04. The wind was strong enough that a little effort was needed to get down stream. The sun was wonderfully warm off the icy cold water and it felt good to ceremoniously shake winter from my bones. I ended my venture at Fritz landing, stashed my craft in the naked bushes and hiked and jogged back to my truck. Two deer greeted me as I pulled into my driveway, nervously nibbling on emerging buds. It was only 5 p.m. and I thought to myself "what the hell am I going to do with all this extra daylight?" One nap later....” 7:03:07 AM 4/05/04 “I lost an hour.” 7:06:55 AM 4/05/04 “I lost an hour, but there is an "extra" hour of daylight at the end of the day. It's going to be great having that extra hour of daylight. I'm not liking the fact that I have to get up in the dark again. All this will change soon as the days are getting longer. It was difficult to remember that this morning with the cold temps, a brisk wind and snow!” 7:17:55 AM 4/05/04 “yes, the extra daylight in the evenings is a blessing to all us working folks. Now I can get a bike ride in before dark after work and still get dinner and feed the brood at a reasonable hour.” 7:21:27 AM 4/05/04 “I haven't changed my clocks yet so I still own my hour.” 7:22:31 AM 4/05/04 “Yeah, I lost an hour too.” 7:23:05 AM 4/05/04 “change your clocks bearbait, your gonna be late for work!” 7:24:49 AM 4/05/04 “I Actually beat everyone to work. Now I can leave after 6hrs. Therefore I get 2 hours back and can change my clocks and come out ahead! I win!!!!” 7:36:06 AM 4/05/04 “What extra hour??????? Dang I missed something...” 7:39:14 AM 4/05/04 “We AZ folk don't participate, the last thing we need is another hour of 110 degrees.” 8:10:19 AM 4/05/04 “You lose the hour in the spring, gain it back in the fall. Unless you live in Arizona or some other wierd place.” 8:37:03 AM 4/05/04 “I think Snake Eyes is talking about the "extra" hour of daylight.” 8:42:40 AM 4/05/04 “Could someone come set the time on my old VCR?” 9:25:35 AM 4/05/04 “I built a time machine out of an old Pinto I had sitting in my back yard in an attempt to gather back the hour I LOST!!!!!” 9:29:36 AM 4/05/04 “now the clock in the car is right again!” 9:31:30 AM 4/05/04 “Yay!” 9:31:49 AM 4/05/04 Wounded Knee “If you built it out of a Pinto, that hour's gone for good. Yes, I was talking about the extra hour of daylight. Can't slide on anything around here. I wonder if the stress of posting increases the need for hiking. Circuitous? If I didn't post would I still need to hike? Probably. Anyway, I'm out the door.” 12:12:48 PM 4/05/04 “LMAO @ lyra” 12:14:39 PM 4/05/04 “All I know is I will be stir-crazy before my allergies let up. I gotta new pair of boots and a sore ass and I wanna go hiking.” 12:14:53 PM 4/05/04 “did the time change?” 12:24:01 PM 4/05/04 “I have decided that I’m not doing the time change until today so I would get out of an hour of work. lol” 12:27:11 PM 4/05/04 “Yah, it's too bad it doesn't happen on 2:00PM on Monday, lol...” 12:27:53 PM 4/05/04 “It is for me.” 12:28:40 PM 4/05/04 “I finally figured out how to set the BAby G watch I have...” 12:52:23 PM 4/05/04 “another hour just means i dont realize what time it is at work so i end up staying until 6 or 7...or 8, you know how that goes...but oh well thats what the weekend is for...” 7:01:07 PM 4/06/04
