I thought unemployment rose from 5.6% to 5.7%. (Bureau of Labor Statistics)

it did rise.

I heard one guy say that was good because, and now get this, because all the good news is causing people who had given up on finding jobs re-enter the job search, and thus get counted in the stats. So more people looking for work makes the rate go up.

That's a stretch even for a pro spinmeister.
