“Soooo it's like this I would just love to live in the mountians and there is a new job open up for an elementary art teacher. At first I thougth Ok I already said I would come back to Charlotte and teach next year....but then last Tues this little 8th grader came into my class threaten me, like he looks at me and says "I don't like you!" acted like he was shooting a gun and made shooting noises while he looked at me...so I had him sent out. So ok security comes to pick him up...15 mins later he is back (alone) and he askes me if I felt threaten I said yes...then he says he is going to get 10days out of school....oh well do I feel bad...NO..
but then he threatens me again telling me if he gets 10 days I better watch myself when he gets back... oh here is the kicker...the law won't let me press charges because the threat is not stated correctly for the law... what a load of crap... ok now he is then picked up again...and I see him no more until I am on bus duty..that afternoon...and he is staring at me like he wants to kill me... ok so I figure they sent him home that day... but ohhhh no early Wed morning when I am on Breakfast duty...he is back and as he is coming in line he looks at me shaking something in his pocket telling me "Oh you will get beat up!" again not a threat to press charges with the police because he didnt' say "I will beat you up!!" By now I am really P.Oed... so I call again for them to come get him. Now ok... do I feel safe in my job .. I mean geeze look at my back up.. and help from my school...
So after that day I hurried to mail in my reseme and filled out the online application... So wish me luck to get the H.... our of Charlotte.. and into a less stressfull situation!!

just a added note the kid has a hearing on the 9th just so they can see if he needs to be kicked out of my school... ha! He has a 45 average in my class and is failing all other classes what do you think?”

“Sounds to me like classroom hell! sorry to hear you're having such a problem. being a fellow teacher, i can understand the stress you're under, day after day with these kids! i hope the "system" doesn't fail you or that kid! it's kids like him that "typically" need the most help!

“Very true... however this kid has been going at it with other teachers all school year and to me that was a cry in itself...however no one would discipline him or make him take an account for what he does.”

“That's sad! I know of some kids that "went bad" because of the lack of attention, from not only their teachers, but also their families. One's in prision, 2 others are "at large". had even one person cared enough to give a rats a$$, then maybe they would've turned out ok. The one in prision wanted to be a doctor, and nearly made it too! he had the grades for it, and was on the honor roll a lot! i moved away, only to find out later he "turned" and is now stuck behind bars for attempted murder and robbery. i sincerely hope this kid gets the "right attention" and turns out ok. it's scary moments like this that I had to endure as a teacher in the public system, that made me go to the private sector.

“lol my sister teaches middle school too...she had a problem kid like that and she somehow told the principal and the kid off the record and in a way that would not get her in trouble that if the student threatened her again or did anything to her...she would get me and my brother to go kick the #&%!$ out of him and show him what its like to be scared...you know what...the principal got him outta her hair and you know what else i would have done it in a heart beat...now taken that she is kinda buddies with the principal but still the kid never showed his face to her again...”

At another school, perhaps that's the one where a kid will give no warning and come in and blow a bunch of people away. I don't know.

“Well Gemini this is another kid that I had to deal with it. I am very upset with the admistration and how the police deal with these matters.
The other boy I told you about well he went to management school and hasn't made it back. Like some of you say these kids that are so volient are smart.. just somewhere in the transactions they become angry.. I just don't put up with disrespect as so many kids now seem to think they can talk to adults anyway they want. If I would get more back up I would continue to work where I am.. but I'm not seeing that in any form.

“My daughter subbed for awhle in a local school. Her first day on the job she kicked 11 kids out of class. Principal told her it was a new record, but that they generally gave the kids 3 chances before the boot. She replied that if given 3 strikes you will always use at least 2 of them. This was in a school where it wasn't unusual for kids to be drunk in class.

Did he have a 45 average in "Art"? If so, just take him out back and shoot him.”

I don't know if it's the same down there, but years of cutbacks in budgets and hiring have created a huge demand for teachers here. Now's the time to make a leap - it's too late when you're my age (55).

I'm happy in my work and in my community, but I wish now that I'd moved out West with my kids when I still had kids.

“Hey snake eye I hate to say this but all my life I haven't worried about correct spelling and with spell check it makes it worse... like math if you use a calculator all the time you forget how to multiply and add without one..
So forgive my spelling just thank God I'm an art teacher and can draw very well and do other meduims very well. I am at least an expert in my field.. and I can't spell.

So that's not an excuse just an explination.
