“One of the local TV stations is doing a daily *check* on campaign commercials. It's amazing how many commercials skew their statistics to make the other person look bad, when in reality the statements made against the other person AREN"T the absolute truth.

Most of the candidates start off stating what they want to accomplish, ho hum, boooring.

Now one nasty vicious attack ad, and everyone sits up and takes notice, this is news, juicy gossip.

Smear seems to get so much better results that a clean campaign is a losing campaign.

The real losers are the public who listen to the smears but pay no attention to, or do not put their time and effort into, understanding how the candidates position will affect their way of life.

Of course the candidate who is losing the smear war will go for the gut emotional issues in the last 2 weeks, guns and abortion.

Early on as we are now, it is a taxes and soft on crime campaign.
