okay, FINE, i watched it! LOL! i think the whole plastic surgery trend is icky-poo too, but i have to say i was sorta happy for the women after they'd seen themselves...they were really happy.

by the way, i just bought eye cream for the first time the other day...the wrinkles are setting in! i'm going to need an eye lift in like a couple years, the rate i'm going. LOL! i'm OLD...practically one foot in the grave here, people.

"lipsosuction, Nige…”

Naw! If I can do something non surgical that’s the way to go. It’s the flabby skin that will never tighten up that I’d get rid of. I have a weak chin that I’d love to have worked on too.

I've tried to go to Hooters but I get distracted by the strip clubs I pass on the way.

I've never been to a Hooters. I'm not particularly interested in going either.

Never been either.

As fror what type of girls I pursued (as a single man, Maple!), I always had an aversion to the girls that depended too much on cosmetics. Most of the women I went out with wore little or no make-up. And of course, in those days, the proliferation of cosmetic surgery was strictly for the wealthy Park Ave, over the hill type Mrs. Robinsons that weren't anywhere near my personal agenda anyway...

You guys can talk a good game when you want, but get right down to it -- even here on Trail Talk, GASP!! -- you're panting over hotties, the ones who take care to look good and perhaps have fake boobs... like at Hooter's.

HPM, it may not be you. I didn't say an unqualified "ALL" men. But a good majority.

To answer the question, do a search for any Hooter's thread on here.

I didn't watch this show (I was too busy watching the new Bachelor as he goofed giving out his last rose, LOL) but I have seen bits of other shows like that. On the Swan, they can't see themselves for 3 months can they? That would be traumatic I would think.

I know that I once lived life in a skinny little body, and now in this tubby one, and believe me, the way people treated me before was VERY different than now.

So on one hand I can see where the potential swans are coming from, but on the other hand, it's too darn bad it's like that. People make a lot of assumptions based on appearance.

"perhaps have fake boobs"?

I think I've lost your point lizs (must be the hormones). Do I pant over hotties? Yes. Do I pant over Amish women? No. I'm not attracted to obese women or rail thin women, either. I'm attracted to women with certain qualities.

Who doesn't do something to appear more attractive? Do you get out of bed in the morning and do nothing but eat breakfast before you head out into the world?

I guess Natural Beauty means nothing anymore. its all shock and awe.

I understand what Lizs is saying. this day in age, woman are made to feel less then pretty all the time. look at TV ads, every kind of makeup, firm up your @ss, things like that are thrown at us so we feel less then perfect.
i am not sure how i would feel if i ws not married. but I know i would feel less then secure with my body.

The point I am trying to make:

The first umpteen posts beyond Scorchfire's on this thread were guys talking about how awful this show is that encourages women to remake themselves with plastic surgery.

I am asking if society doesn't encourage less drastic steps to make women beautiful all the time, every day, everywhere. This show is only a natural extension of that, so why the huge outrage?

Also, that I have a hunch many of the men either A) go for the "hot" babes... or maybe not so hot, but still those who use lipstick, eye shadow, blush, etc and colored or highlighted hair to attempt to make themselves "prettier" for society, AND/OR B) are the same guys you find on threads here ogling "hot" women and making derogatory or sexist comments on such.

I find it quite ironic that guys are bemoaning a show that takes such measures to an extreme. "Oh my god, why are women stooping to plastic surgery??!?!"

I say, is it any wonder the women do and why should these guys be so surprised?

I did not watch the show. i can only go by what has been said here.

now, with that said, i have a question to ask the guys that did see it this,

would you have dated the before chicks or the after chicks?
if yes then why?
if no then Why

or both then why!

I think Liz is angry because she is insecure with her current looks.

Add another to the growing list of guys who has never graced the interior of a Hooters.

I grew up in a dairy farming area, want big boobs, get a cow.

Time for some sheep jokes.

I think lizs is just airing her frustration with women who choose Not to augment being discounted some how. The thing I hate worst of all are boob jobs for the sake of having bigger boobs. Gimme the small natural ones every time!
