The meals sound good, but $8 is a bit too expensive.

Twigeater had these great meals on the Baxter Snowball that I'm going to try. Found the instant spuds in the grocery store.

When I was at REI last night, I was real suprised at the jump in cost for MH food.

My home dehydrated meals cost about a dollar each to make. It does require a little cooking though. But for $7 difference, I can cook for ten minutes and clean up the mess.

I wonder what the weight is? That is one thing that I alway have problems with. My Food bag weighs a ton! I also always have food left over, I hate packing food back to my car! But i also hate being hungry!!!!

It is supposed to serve two though - right, $4 a throw isn't so bad.

I'm not a huge fan of MH and enertia, but cliff bars - yuck, ptooey! They remind me of turds.
(normally I'd refrain from such a graphic description, but there's so much talk of vomit lately... :)
Not a big fan of jerky either, but it's ok.

So how do those new MH meals SS linked to rehydrate? I guess we don't know if no one's had them, but are they just add water? I wonder how the meat rehydrates?

I'm guessing that the meal looks nothing like the picture.

I have not tried a MH meal yet that did not taste like crap. They take forever to rehydrate!

My opinon is yuck! Stick with Enertria.

Maybe your right Twig.
I think I will switch from turds (clif bars) back to C.R.A.P.

I still like the MRE's.

If I take ope MRE for the main course for each day, it's about 6 oz. I go in wuth some other people and we get three or four cases of different meals and then divvy them up for variety. $92.89 for a case of 72. You do the math.

They taste great and they are already cooked so you can eat them if you can't have a fire.

Dude, I knew you were desperate to get on the trail, but I think we need an intervention...
