SLEEPING BAG QUESTION...View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 10 of 10 messages posted.
new sleeping bag question... “i'm looking for a new sleeping bag. i'm 6ft tall so should i get a bag that "fits to 6ft" or "fits to 6'6"? will a 6ft'er be to tight or do manufacturers allow allow the extra room? thanks!” 11:49:06 AM 4/13/04 bags “by the way i'm looking at the north face bags.” 11:51:02 AM 4/13/04 “You'll need to provide more info than that - temp range, use, price, down/synthetic etc” 12:08:26 PM 4/13/04 bag “specifically i'm looking at the north face 'cats meow'.” 12:30:49 PM 4/13/04 “I'm 6' and have TNF Cats Meow and the regular fits me just fine for 3 season use. If you're looking to use it for colder temps below freezing, make sure you get the long so you'll have room for items like a fuel canister, water bottle and maybe even some clotheing you want to keep warm.” 12:34:22 PM 4/13/04 “When you going to be using this bag and how do you sleep, hot or cold?” 12:40:51 PM 4/13/04 “I had a TNF Cat's meow....I gave it to the kids... It was too heavy and bulky....but it was a good bag for $99 I paid.....I just decided to go ultra light in backpacking” 12:58:44 PM 4/13/04 “Oh sorry, I'm 6' and I had the 6' it was fine, but not extra room for items...” 1:02:48 PM 4/13/04 “I've got a Cats Meow and love it. I'm 6'tall and got the long version so I could stuff boots & water bottles in it during cold weather. I increased the temp rating on it by sewing in my own collar (helped a lot!). Also, during colder weather here in Southern Calif (down in the high 'teens) I simply wear an extra layer of clothes. Temp can also be affected by # of people in tent and how much insulation between you and the ground/snow. Overall, a great bag.” 10:46:14 PM 4/13/04 “I'm just shy of 5'7". I have the Cats Meow and love it.” 11:08:10 PM 4/13/04
