SLEEPING BAG QUESTION...

“i'm looking for a new sleeping bag. i'm 6ft tall so should i get a bag that "fits to 6ft" or "fits to 6'6"? will a 6ft'er be to tight or do manufacturers allow allow the extra room? thanks!”

“I'm 6' and have TNF Cats Meow and the regular fits me just fine for 3 season use. If you're looking to use it for colder temps below freezing, make sure you get the long so you'll have room for items like a fuel canister, water bottle and maybe even some clotheing you want to keep warm.”

“I had a TNF Cat's meow....I gave it to the kids... It was too heavy and bulky....but it was a good bag for $99 I paid.....I just decided to go ultra light in backpacking”

“I've got a Cats Meow and love it. I'm 6'tall and got the long version so I could stuff boots & water bottles in it during cold weather. I increased the temp rating on it by sewing in my own collar (helped a lot!). Also, during colder weather here in Southern Calif (down in the high 'teens) I simply wear an extra layer of clothes. Temp can also be affected by # of people in tent and how much insulation between you and the ground/snow. Overall, a great bag.”
