Fishing, eh? Only a Canuck can cause thread degeneration by talking about fishing and not politics, sex, racism or violence, eh?

How's that for what the 'National Lampoon' called, '... the only people more boring than the Swedes.'?

If it was going to degenerate at least it was outdoor related.

So how many nights is this trip going to be?

Artex: If you're thinking about trekking in with full packs via Indian Pass, then take the Yellow trail between Iroquois and Marshall to the Colden Corridor, expect to have your butt kicked the first day! Youans might wanna save your energy for Day 2.

Suggestion: Take the Calamity Brook trail from Upper Works to Lake Colden, quickly set up camp, then if you have enough time and enthusiasm, you could bag Mt. Colden the same day.

Just my opinion ...hike yer own hike, man. But you asked for suggestions.

Actually, that's the route I had in mind to get to base camp. It's a neat hike in also, we did it for the orginal buttkicker.

Any idea as to mileage yet?

Also, the 2nd day will be a sort of dayhike, yes?

Second day should mirror the first. Expect ~15 miles of steep climbs each day.
Artex

So camp for Day 2 will be the same camp on day 1.

Artex, think you can do ~15 miles of steep climbs a day? You're all wussy now!! ;-)

Yep. That's the way I'd prefer to do it. We won't have the energy to pack up and set up camp at another location, LOL!

Artex

Perhaps not, but the Yamster will go into your trail mix bag and steal all the cashews.

Wounded Knee, yep, that's perfect. That's what we usually do: hike in with full packs, set up a basecamp, and use daypacks for the peak bagging.

Perhaps Yam is as merciless as that one chipmunk?

It'll be a grand trip, that's for sure. And I hope we'll get to see some bears. Odds are in our favor for that.

This should be the sickest trip yet. I love it!

"Perhaps Yam is as merciless as that one chipmunk?"
Artex"

Worse, she kept coming back for more. At least I could shoo away the chipmunk. Plus, she's a trailname thief. ;o)
