“I don't know if it's just my frustration with Lowe's, but Home Depot earned my business here because I was able to find the stuff that I needed there that I:

A) wasn able to find at Lowe's

and

B) When I asked someone at Lowe's to help me, the answer was something like "Why don't you look in the paint department?"

So it will be a while before I darken the door of a Lowe's again.”

“I like Home Depot, but I'll NEVER have their contractors install carpet again. It all wrinkled up only weeks after it was installed and I could'nt get anyone out to fix it.”

“Although, I had a good experience with our kitchen, I agree that Home 'whatever' is poorly organized. Takes FOREVER to find something, because staff only know THEIR aisle.”

“I usually have pretty good luck finding what I need at Home 'wahtever'. The one I usually go to has sales people that seem to know at least a direction to point me in if it's not their particular area. They carry the best selection of any hardware store within a reasonable drive.

My one complaint was over 'water haeter drain pipes' I was looking when making my gear sled. The guy in plumbing had no clue what I was talking about. Upon the advice of Twigeater and Pennsy, I looked by the hot water heaters on my next visit. The pipes I was looking for were right there.

Most of the time the staff at Home 'whatever' is very helpful. I'm thankful for this as the nearest store is 45 miles away from me. Needless to say, I spend a lot of time planning for projects now rather than just running down to my local Home 'whatever'.”

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (AP) - A man shopping for trees at a Lowe's home improvement store was bitten by an 18-inch eastern diamondback rattler, a snake native to the Southeast. "The gentleman thought he had hit his hand on a thorn but they discovered it was a snakebite," said Chris Ahearn, a spokeswoman for the Mooresville, N.C.-based chain. A relative shopping with the man killed the snake, and they brought it with them when the customer was taken to a hospital, she said. Ahearn would not identify the customer. A hospital official would not provide information without the man's name. Ahearn surmises the reptile probably made its way to Broken Arrow with the trees, which were shipped in from Tennessee. The species can grow as long as 7 feet and often gives warning bites that deliver no venom.”
