Rasmussen has him at 38%.

It's probably in the low to mid 30s. Rasmussen always skews towards the Republicans.

But this is just the way things go. The future no longer includes Bush. He's not likely to get anything done in the next two years with the Democrats in Congress.

And all the Republicans have to distance themselves from him if they ever want to win again.

He's on course to be one of the least liked ex presidents in history, and deservedly so.

He does have an opportunity to salvage a little bit of his reputation. He needs to become the national garbageman and start taking out some of the wreckage of his presidency.

If he feels it in his heart that Iraq is lost, HE needs to be the one to pull the troops out so that he doesn't muck up the next presidency, too.

And he could certainly help out his party by resolving some of these problems before the next election. He could become the national spit bucket so that we can just blame everything on him and move on.

Of course, there is value in letting the Republicans twist in the wind a bit.

Bush has now surpassed Nixon for the highest "strongly disapprove" rating ever recorded for a president in the Gallup poll.

So we still have that creature in the White House,
a nuclear state disintegrating before our eyes,
the Democratic Congress is pushing for another crap trade agreement to screw the Middle Class
and all the most likely presidential candidates favor amnesty for Illegal Aliens.

What a lovely state of affairs.

well, sure, bush's popularity may be a little on the low side, but more of our troops have been killed this year in iraq than in any year since the war began, and the war has now lasted longer than world war II...

100,000 turkish troops are massed on iraq's northern border eager to attack kurdish rebels...

violence, martial law and civil unrest in pakistan as bush's buddy puts down another coup...

iran continues to defy the west in its pursuit of nuclear weapons while supporting shiite insurgents in iraq...

the price of crude oil is nearing $100 a barrel...

the u.s. dollar plummets in world currency markets...

our credit markets are racked by a trillion-dollar subprime-mortgage crisis and nearly 2 million home foreclosures...

but things are looking up!!! 4 MORE YEARS!!! 4 MORE YEARS!!!

Stove people aren't happy with congress either, but its not the Democrats in congres who are most unpopular. Check this out from recent CNN polling:

Approval of congressional Democrats stands at 43 percent, twice that of Congress in general. The flip side, however, is that Democrats who control Congress still face a disapproval rating of 51 percent, a figure that has increased 11 percentage points since March.

People are pretty disappointed with most of our political leadership.

I love it. All anyone on the Bush side can do is point at Congress and say, "Well, people don't like them either!" Wow. Sterling defense.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A record number of Americans say that most members of Congress do not deserve to be re-elected, according to new CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll.

Next year could be rocky for incumbents as a new poll shows dissatisfaction with Congress.

Democrats fared better than Republicans, according to the poll released Friday. If the elections for Congress were held today, Democratic candidates would get 53 percent of the vote and Republicans would get 42 percent, according to the results.

Party affiliation aside, 2008 could be a rocky year for incumbents.

While overshadowed now by the race for the White House, the battle for control of Congress will heat up next year.

Fifty-three percent of those surveyed said that most members of Congress do not deserve re-election -- the highest figure since the question was first asked in 1991. Except for one downturn in October 2004, those numbers have been rising since April 2002.

Americans think more highly of the lawmaker representing them, but 39 percent say their own member of Congress does not deserve re-election. That view is also a record high since polling began on that question in 1991. See the results »

Broken down by party, GOP lawmakers received less support for re-election from the public than Democrats.

"The public seems to be concentrating its wrath on the GOP. Only 38 percent believe that most Republican members of Congress deserve re-election. But 50 percent say that most Democrats in Congress deserve to be re-elected," said Keating Holland, CNN's polling director.

Last year voters gave the Democrats control of both houses of Congress for the first time since 1994. But their lead is tenuous.

The Senate is split 49-49 between Democrats and Republicans. But thanks to the support of two independent senators who ally themselves with Democrats, the party holds a razor thin 51-49 advantage in the Senate.

In the House of Representatives, the lead is slightly larger, with the Democrats holding a 30-seat margin.

The CNN/Opinion Research telephone poll of 1,024 American adults was carried out November 2 through Sunday. The sampling error for the full sample was plus or minus 3 percentage points; some questions were asked of a half sample of about 500 respondents. That sample carries a sampling error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.

With far more Americans identifying themselves as Democrats than Republicans, President Bushs job rating has hit a new low, according to the latest FOX News poll.

Three in 10 Americans (30 percent) now approve of the job Bush is doing as the nations leader, with 6 in 10 disapproving.

While disapproval of the president has been higher (for example, 61 percent in both July and March of 2007), his approval rating has never sunk this low before.

Majorities in every major sub-group except Republicans, conservatives and born-again Christians give a negative rating to Bushs performance in the White House. Nearly two-thirds of Republicans (65 percent) approve of Bush.

This bad news for Bush comes at a time when the gap between those identifying themselves as Democrats and those identifying as Republicans has reached 13 percentage points (43 percent versus 30 percent), which is the largest difference ever measured in a FOX News poll.

WASHINGTON (AP) Public approval of President Bush has dipped to a new low in the Associated Press-Ipsos poll, driven by dissatisfaction with his handling of the economy.

A survey released Thursday showed 28 percent approve of the overall job Bush is doing. That was statistically tied with his previous low in the poll of 30 percent last month and in February.

Only 27 percent are happy with his job on the economy, which threatens to enter a recession and which many national surveys show is voters' top worry. That was worse than his previous low of 29 percent approval for handling the economy set in February, and down 4 percentage points from last month.

Congress was rated positively by 23 percent, a point above its worst mark. It has been mired in poor ratings since last summer, with many Democrats complaining it has not challenged Bush strenuously enough on Iraq and other issues and Republicans generally unhappy with its Democratic leaders.

Highlighting Bush's broad unpopularity, 60 percent of Republicans approved of his overall job, his weakest showing yet with members of his own party. Just 7 percent of Democrats and 17 percent of independents approve.

On the economy, 54 percent of Republicans approve of Bush's efforts, another low.

His approval by all adults for handling domestic matters like health care fell 7 points to 27 percent, his steepest drop this month. His ratings for dealing with Iraq and other foreign policy issues were low but stable.

Overall, 24 percent said the country is heading in the right direction, about the same gloomy assessment the public has had for months.

Wait, it dropped back down?

To drop back down, it would have had to have gone up, right?

What happened to that article being posted on here. I missed seeing that somehow.
