Let's talk Patriots
The Patriots most glaring need: A workhorse running back. Let's see now, we get a problematic, but hugely succesful Corey Dillon, for the 58th draft pick???? Yeah, we'll take that deal!!! Will Corrie still be a problem? With Belicheck at the helm? On a winning team? You know, winning solves many problems. We'll see....

Add to that, we'll be taking some pressure off Tom Brady. Does Tom Brady need the pressure taken off to perform well? Suddenly, I am excited about the chances, unlike the last time the Pats won it all.

Oh yeah: neener, neener, neener!!!!!

monkey
the only reason they picked up dillon is because of the cheap price.he's a punk who doesn't care about the team winning at all. bengals were finally starting to win for the first time in like 10 years, and THAT'S when he started b*tching.

MY PREDICTION

i bet you 10 bucks they pick up atleast 1, prolly 2 great young backs in the draft. those backs will also be solid all-around guys with great work ethics and and decent college G.P.A.s

watch the first couple rounds of the draft, the back they pick up will be the future of N.E.

GO FINS!!!

From NFL news -

"(April 23, 2004) -- Former Arizona Cardinals safety Pat Tillman, who gave up an NFL contract to join the Army Rangers, reportedly has been killed in Afghanistan.

In the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in 2001, Tillman turned down a three-year contract with the Cardinals to enlist in the Army."

Stop fooling Phaedie! Although I kinda sorta wanted the brat to have sit out then have a career ending injury playing badminton and NEVER play in the NFL.

Quincy Carter released by the Cowboys. Positive test for cocaine.

Arky, can you give a link to the positive test? Is this his first and the Cowboys have a true zero tolerance policy? Or has he been tested positive before and this time it's a year and they cut him? Back in New York LT had some white powder issues, but was such a great player, one wonders how much of it got overlooked there.
monkeyboy
4:42:14 PM

Sporting News says he tested positive which does not mean he will be kicked out of the league. It was just an easy way for the Cowboys to unload him. Hell, in this day & age I'm not even sure it's a crime anymore.

Hmmm... I thought the cowboys liked him, at least the tuna. Jones has publicly criticized his performance though. And his output did go down last season as the season wore on. So they trade him in for Vinny??? He may be a good field general, won't make many mistakes, just the kind of QB Parcells likes.... could be real good, but he's an old man....

the steelers have been on a tear of late, and their bubbles bound to burst. big ben is way overdue for a bad game. i think its going to come down to the pats and steelers for the afc championship, and itll be alot closer the second time around. if the steelers make it to the big game, itll be against philly, and that game will defineitely be alot closer. tonight is make or break for the colts. they lose tonight, and just making the playoffs is going to be in jeapordy. forget about all that early season superbowl talk.

Boy! How would you like to play this worthless team and loose. They showed they had it for their first win against the cheeseheads. They showed they were the better of 2 suck ass tems when they beat the hapless 49ers.

I don't know what they showed in yesterday's win over the Giants. I know they screwed up a lot of people that have office pools.

Well now that the Monday night game has come to an end. I can say without being too optmistic. That the Vikes are better than I thought they were. They almost came back from 14 points down,in a hostile enviroment, against a good offense and beat the Colts who are desperate for a win. And they did it without Randy Moss, Kenny Irvin, Chris Claiborne, Jimmy Klinesaucer, Mike Rosenthua. So if they can clean out the MASH unit, maybe they can make a run at the playoffs.
Key word is almost...

Another Key word is RANDY MOSS!

Sunday night football on ESPN
Here's a little bit of wisdom from one of the NFL boards. It's hard not to agree with it.

I will never, ever, ever, ever, never, never ever, ever, ever watch Sunday night football with the sound on again!!!!!!!!

Those freakin titslaps are sorriest bunch of nut-huggin, bunghole lickin retards to ever even talk about football. Luckily I saw most the game in a Red Robin and couldn't hear the sound. When I got home, about mid third quarter, the first hing I hear is a Gay Ray jizzfest. Now, I don't particularly like the Browns but Ray Ray all but pulled the TE's pants down and corn-holed him on the goal line near the end of the game. Tell me that wouldn't have interference if it was any other linebacker. They showed one clear shot of the murderer pulling the guy down before the ball got there - once- then they showed it from the other angle. to finish it off Paul says let's look at it one more time to see if Lewis grabbed him- and what angle did they use? The camera from the OTHER endzone, at about ground level looking through the pile and the lineman's feet!!!!! And Paul shouts out, "NO. Didn't touch him."

sunday night football is just monday night football wanna-be

on last nights, ok, granted, indys win gets an asterisk beside it because of the absence of the vikes star receiver. but, consider this: last year, manning was having a mediocre season until they had to play a game without harrison due to injury. manning threw for 400 yards because the other receivers stepped up their play, and that carried over to the rest of the season. and oh, yea, they won the game.

of course, to be fair, take out manning and see how far the colts go. theyre struggling to stay in the playoff hunt as it is. last year they were chasing the first playoff seed, now theyre chasing the last. kinda disappointing. at least the defense was improved (couldnt get any worse): forced 3 punts, 2 field goals and held the number one offense to just 292 yards

I think Peyton played an outstanding game. And the offense of the Colts is awesome and loaded with talent. If they get the defense straightened out, then they are going to be serious Superbowl contenders! (Tony Dungy=Mr Defense, (Cover 2)
Hmmm, sounds like similair issues the Vikes have.... Except we no longer have Tony.
