I remember when Rosie "No one should own guns" O'Donald ended up having a body guard who carried a gun. Its like a nun having an abortion.

When did Michael Moore say he didn't like guns again? He stated very clearly in Bowling for Columbine that he was a card carrying member of the NRA.

i havent seen bowling for columbine, but from what ive heard, its not so much anti-gun as anti-gun-fanatic-obsession.

Far as I know, Michael Moore has been OK with gun ownership, and was (maybe still is) an NRA member.

Yeah, the purpose of the movie is to try and find out what is wrong with kids in our country that our schools are starting to get shot up on a regular basis. He actually explores all the 'myths' that are out there. Guns, video games, tv, etc. but he also debunks them all as individual reasons. He never really draws any conclusions. It's left to the viewer to form an opinion. The best part of the film is when he walks through a Canadian neighborhood and walks into their front doors just to check and see if they are locked. It's a wonder he didn't get shot!

the preaching veganism while eating steak analogy is very inept.

a better analogy would be gun-owners being against gun control makes about as much sense as a car-owner being against the rules of the road

if driving is outlawed, only outlaws will drive :-D

Moore first joined the NRA as a junior member when he was in the boy scouts. That article tries to portray the purchase of his lifetime membership as the first time Moore has been affiliated with the organization. The certificate it displays was from when he was a teenager.

Sense I love honesty as much as I love truth I’ll be the first one to say this story has turned out to be false. I found a letter written to Moorewatch.com from the security agencey. The body guard that was busted only worked for the agency detailed with Moore’s protection and this body guard was never assigned to Moore. Fox was wrong.

Michael Moore Fails to Make Cut with Writers Guild

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Two days after being snubbed when the Oscar nominations were announced, Michael Moore was left off the list Thursday when the Writers Guild of America unveiled nominees for its first documentary writing award for a feature film.

The six nominated pictures are "The Hunting of the President," which alleges a campaign against Bill Clinton from his early days in Arkansas through his impeachment; "Control Room," an inside view of the Arab television network Al Jazeera during the war in Iraq; "Bright Leaves," a reflection on Big Tobacco by the great-grandson of a tobacco baron; "Home of the Brave," a study of murdered civil-rights activist Viola Liuzzo; "In the Realm of the Unreal," which follows artist, novelist and janitor Henry Darger; and "Super Size Me," a first-person take on the perils of overeating fast food.

Of those films, only Morgan Spurlock's "Super Size Me" has been nominated for a best documentary Academy Award.

WGA officials said Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" was eligible but Moore elected not to submit it. Moore's "Bowling for Columbine" won the WGA Award for best original screenplay in 2003, the first time that a documentary had ever been nominated in that category.

"Fahrenheit 9/11" also failed to earn an Academy Award nomination this week. In that case, however, he had declined to submit "Fahrenheit" in the documentary category because he planned a TV airing before the Nov. 2 election -- and that disqualified the documentary under Academy rules. "Fahrenheit" was eligible in other categories, and Moore unsuccessfully campaigned for a best picture nomination.

The winner of the WGA Documentary Screenplay Award will be named at a reception for documentary filmmakers Feb. 15 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles.

Moore's movies are fiction
Iraq Vet Sues Michael Moore for Misleading Interview in 'Fahrenheit 9/11'

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — A double-amputee Iraq-war vet is suing Michael Moore for $85 million, claiming he recycled an old interview and used it out of context to make him appear anti-war in "Fahrenheit 9/11."

Damon seems to "voice complaint about the war effort" in the movie, according to the lawsuit.

But what the father of two from Middleborough, Mass., was really talking about was the "excruciating" pain he felt after he lost his arms when a Black Hawk helicopter exploded in front of him.

Damon wasn't expressing any opinion about the war, the suit charges, but rather extolling the drug.

This is typical right wing spin - Moore doesn't try to make it look like the guy opposes the war. He seems to be trying to show that there has been a toll of injuries. Funny how Fox and pro-war guys go about twisting and misleading to point out that Moore twists and misleads.

Moore does theatrics to make points. He is openly a guy advocating for a position. Fox, however, pretends to do news and claims to be "fair and balanced."

Why is it we give so much credence to celebrities? I mean really they are just people playing OTHER people...I loved the Charles Barkley response when someone asked him if he thought he was setting a good example...He told people essentially he didn't want to be an example.
