Got graduation pictures back yesterday... well, the proofs actually. I took a photo of it with the web cam, so it's not the best quality. At least my eyes are shut this time:

LOL... it's the proof. It's in a cardboard frame (which is the dome). I didn't feel like scanning it, so I just took a picture of it with my web cam.

The Yam
Yams are a sub-tropical plant, native to the Caribbean and Asia, and imported into the U.S. and other countries. The Yam is a vining crop that requires almost a year to develop.

Me... Afraid of a sub-tropical vine???

Good one, yam!

Phil, the thesis was on criminal profiling and how it has benefited catching serial killers. The questions I got weren't too strong considering the amount of evidence I had to back the claim. My main topic was that profiling produces and shows similar characteristics (both background and killing tactics) among the known serial killers and can help catch others are at work every day.

Interesting factoid: The FBI identifies 10-12 new serial killers per year.

My press release
For Information Contact:
Bill --------, Media Relations Manager, (sorry, blocked out his last name and phone number and my last name)

An Arcadia University Senior Says Profiling is Key to Catching Criminals

A recent study by Arcadia University senior Melissa -------shows the importance of doing criminal profiles. “These profiles can narrow down the search tremendously for law enforcement,” says -------. “That alone can be a real difference in catching a criminal.”

For her study, -------, a resident of Warminster, PA, did a case study of five of the most notorious serial killers, including Jack the Ripper, Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy. She then looked to see the common traits among them and found that all had a history of abuse, all had anti-social personality disorders, all seemed very popular among their neighbors and friends and most of the murders usually had a sexual aspect to them.

“Criminal profiling is fairly new compared to other techniques,” says -------, a 1998 graduate of St. ------- High School in Northeast Philadelphia. “But these types of profiles increase the likelihood of catching a suspect.”

------- says that the FBI narrows down 10-12 serial kills per year.

------- graduated from Arcadia University with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Biology in May. She can be reached by calling Bill --------- in the University Relations Office at blahblahblah.

Just curious, what evidence is there that Jack the Ripper was abused in his childhood? Is there something in his letters?

Roam Around

No, he took it out of context... I said to him that MOST serial killers (by looking at profiles) show different types of abuse/neglect in their childhoods. Then he asked what case studies I did throughout the thesis and I told him the names of some of them. Then I guess he thought that since I said MOST that Ripper was included.
