“I have no doubt that many of those put to death deserve to die. But also many of those put to death didn't. There is little real chance of escape. And who's to say that just because the courts deem it, telling someone when they will die, then leading them to a room and killing them, isn't as brutal as the crime committed in the first place.
There are a awful lot of innocent people, usually black men, put to death, so people can feel safer.

You could argue as to the deterrant effect, and it may persuade some people to commit a crime in one state as opposed to another, but overall, the only thing that deters people from killing is the fear of getting caught.”

“DNA Testing Frees Fla. Man Jailed For 22 Years

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A man who spent 22 years behind bars for a rape he did not commit walked out of the Brevard County Detention Center as a free man Friday morning, according to a Local 6 News report.

Wilton A. Dedge, 42, walked out of the Brevard County Jail with his parents just hours after the test results, which had been ordered last month by a judge. The state Legislature in 2001 passed a law that allowed DNA retesting in older cases.

Dedge was greeted with applause and a hug from his mother when he left jail at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

"It's been hell, the last 22 years," Dedge said. "It's finally proved to everybody that I was telling the truth a long time ago."

Brevard County's state attorney admits that his office put the wrong man in prison for life plus 30 years.

LIVINGSTON, Texas (AP) — A convicted killer facing lethal injection beat the executioner to it Thursday, committing suicide by slitting his throat and arm with a blade in his Texas death row cell 15 hours before he was supposed to die.

Michael Dewayne Johnson, 29, was found in a pool of blood by officers making routine checks on him every 15 minutes, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Here is a neat idea, she does life, she works and EVERYTHING goes to the family she harmed. If she makes parole we set a subsistence wage and require that everything over that go to the family she wronged. She wins the IDIOT TAX (Lottery) EVERYTHING goes to the people she damaged.

The sad thing is some wimpy jury may let her off..."she is 16, she has her whole life in front of her...yadda yadda yadda".”

We had a piece of human debris escape in our local hospital...shot a guard and rand for it. The Hospital Police popped him. Then they took him to the ER where he...died.


I think ANY TIME a prisoner is being transferred they should have a shock belt on. One guard should have a "dead man" switch that if he releases...the prisoner hits the ground and does the cockroach dance.

Imagine how many law enforcement people that would save. And if the prisoner dies..."bummer dude".
