My beautiful red chevy truck was assaulted in a hit and run while it was parked in a parking lot. I'm not talking a little ding either. Passengers door is smashed in. The guy at the collision center says it's obvious that it was hit by another chevy truck. ??? So, if you drive a chevy truck and someday some pissed off looking chick gives you the suspicious evil eye, and your innocent, I apologize in advance ;-)

file a police report? Absolutely! I've only got one damage estimate so far. $1863.74. grrrr. Why do these things happen right after you have the deductable raised???

ah hmm...i work in a body shop...you got anyway to email me the estimate??? ill look it over...i am in the paint dept. so i can certainly tell if they are getting ya on the times...what color truck is it?? what is the estimate replacing and/or repairing? gimme some details ill try to help you whittle down the dollar amount so that you could even possibly pay out of pocket if your principle is that high....

btw all you non body shop employee backpacking people out there....it is definitely advisable to put your deductible up to $1000...most body shops will really work with you if you are paying out of pocket...but once you mention that its being turned in on insurance they write all that they can to compensate for what the insurance company will not fix...for instance it may normally pay a techincian 3 hours to prep and paint a bumper but the insurance will automatically write it for 2 while the shop will write it for 4 or more...it creates a happy medium...and to any and all who think its not that expensive to the shop youre wrong...one gallon of clear coat...which is what you put on top of the color(s) costs $100 even of the brand we use...think about that next time you fill up with gas and complain about the price...haha

shep...I can't imagine anyone being able to fix this for less than my deductible. My truck is two-toned red and silver. Basically the whole lower half of the door is smashed in. I can open the door but it grinds and rubs on the fender when I do open it. The repair/labor estimate is $1800. My deductible is $500. Doesn't sound to promising does it?
Did I say my truck was assaulted? Hell, it was raped!!

well you certainly didn't provide much info there but if you dont want help thats fine and dandy with me...just remember there is bound to be another my working in that body shop who will use your insurance to pay for his new bag, tent, stove, widget, whatever you want to think of...matter of fact im getting paid tomorrow...whooo hooo...i only get paid every two weeks so i get extra excited about every other friday...
