HA! those ARE too funny, treebait!

we used to have a goat, it was evil and scary. it used to do retarded things like get into its food and eat it all and be bloated up for weeks. and it got into a bees' nest and got stung 50 million times, and my dad had to save it. i always felt sorry for it and scared of it at the same time. whew, the catharsis is helping some...

LOL!!

goat trauma
Carl Hulsey was determined to turn his white billy goat, Snowball, into a
watchdog, whether Snowball wanted to be one or not. To that end, 77-year-old
Hulsey, a retired poultry worker from Canton, Georgia, took to beating
Snowball with a stick to make him more aggressive. "Pa, this goat's going to
kill you if you keep that up," Alma Hulsey warned her husband. She was
right.

On 16 May 1991, Hulsey once again approached the goat, brandishing a stick.
This time Snowball landed the first blow. The 110-pound goat attacked his
tormentor, butting Hulsey in the stomach, twice knocking him down. Hulsey
scrambled onto the porch in an effort to get away. The goat bounded up the
steps after him. While Alma Hulsey watched, Snowball rammed his master over
the edge. Hulsey fell to the ground five feet below and died where he
landed. "Blunt trauma to the abdominal cavity," said the coroner. Snowball
had ruptured Hulsey's stomach.

As a dangerous animal who might harm another, by rights Snowball should have
been put down. Once the goat's story was known, however, the officials who
were to decide Snowball's fate were inundated with pleas to spare the
creature. More than 500 protesters from around the nation called Cherokee
County animal control after it was announced Snowball might be put to death.
Many offered to adopt Snowball.

Some even made death threats. "What happens to the goat happens to you," one
caller reportedly warned. There was also talk of a bomb being planted if the
goat didn't walk.

Snowball got his reprieve. He was turned over to Noah's Ark, a private
animal shelter for neglected and abused animals in Locust Grove, a little
town south of Atlanta. Four hours after his arrival, he was laid on a
kitchen table and neutered, an operation intended to make him less
aggressive. He was also rechristened "Snow".

My brother almost became my sister at a neighbor's, because of their goat.
I love goats, and have owned four of them over the years. If you raise them right, (withholding any brutal beatings), they will follow you around like a pet. We drank goats milk for many years. One of the most playful animals, and can leap like a deer.

'Snowball' eh? I remember the story but didn't recall the name... in any case, *I* sure don't mess with 'em! I guess they're handy if you have property attractive to TROLLS and whatnot.

They've been associated with the occult in not-so-recent history (probably because of wackos like Lyra, LOL). I'm sure you've seen the drawings of the goat's face forming a pentagram -- 2 ears, 2 horns and the chin becoming a 5-pointed star. Just a little Creepy, eh wot? <G>

Then there's the constellation Auriga. There's a small triangular asterism near the red giant Capella called 'the Kids'... (like: "Drink Goats' Milk -- Feel Like a Kid Again" LOL). Why a charioteer would be holding a couple of baby goats.... nobody seems to know.

When I'm going through the list of the stars of the Winter Hexagon it's always: "Aldebaran in Taurus, Rigel in Orion, Sirius is in the Big Dog, Procyon in the Little Dog, the Twins: Pollux & Castor, and Capella & 'the Kids' in Augiga."

(but they're still a little bit creepy.... lol)

There was a man
Now please take note
There was a man
Who had a goat
He loved that goat
Indeed he did
He loved that goat
Just like a kid

One day that goat
Felt frisk and fine
Ate three red shirts
Right off the line
The man, he grabbed
Him by the back
And tied him to
A railroad track

Now, when that train
Hove into sight
That goat grew pale
And green with fright
He heaved a sigh
As if in pain
Coughed up those shirts
And flagged the train!

WOW...the society of VICTIMS of Poverty must be in shock today....here are the numbers on the "poor" in this nation.

As per the only Candidate more WOMAN than Hillary....The Breck Girl we heard

Edwards has claimed that poverty in America is a “plague” which forces 37 million Americans to live in “terrible” circumstances. According to Edwards, an amazing “one in eight” Americans lack “enough money for the food, shelter, and clothing they need,” caught in a daily “struggle with incredible poverty.”

Well the numbers are in.

46 percent of all poor households actually own their own homes. The average home owned by persons classified as poor by the Census Bureau is a three-bedroom house with one-and-a-half baths, a garage, and a porch or patio.

80 percent of poor households have air conditioning. By contrast, in 1970, only 36 percent of the entire U.S. population enjoyed air conditioning.

Only six percent of poor households are overcrowded; two thirds have more than two rooms per person.

The typical poor American has more living space than the average individual living in Paris, London, Vienna, Athens, and other cities throughout Europe. (These comparisons are to the average citizens in foreign countries, not to those classified as poor.)

Nearly three quarters of poor households own a car; 31 percent own two or more cars.

97 percent of poor households have a color television; over half own two or more color televisions.

78 percent have a VCR or DVD player.

62 percent have cable or satellite TV reception.

89 percent own microwave ovens, more than half have a stereo, and a more than a third have an automatic dishwasher.

There is more...and it is startling...I think I have been VERY right all along. Poor is not a condition it is a Choice.

Libbies hate it when they are so wrong.

Come on...does it hurt so much to see that maybe things AREN'T that bad? Or does that mean maybe you are losing the ability to waggle the Spectere of the EVIL RICH guy and the POOR innocent guy over the victim's heads.

OH another thing BM...the study shows something like 2/3 of the family in poverty are from SINGLE parent families...HMMM wonder which is the ABSENT Parent? Maybe the FATHER we replaced in 1960 with the WAR ON POVERTY. ?

I believe one of the worst problems the census bureau has is contacting the poor and homeless during census years. We hear a lot about it living next door to Detroit. Many African Americans won't talk to the Census Bureau too. There are huge ad campaigns every census year to try and get them to open the door and fill out their census form.

BUT SARGE....if someone FEELS that the POOR are being disregarded just because we WON'T personally take their hands and LEAD them to the water to drink....then it is JUST so.

Sass, you may be right, there are lots of poor who miss being counted. But I remember in the 1980's when there were 300 billion bazillion Homeless (according to the Advocates)granted they all disappeared when SLICK willie got in the White House...but that is another story.

Anywho they did a count during a census..hell they admited they FAKED the numbers and got something like 300,000...Now do you think the Homeless Advocates were estatic?..(I mean the problem was not NEAR as bad as we thought)

NO they said the Census Takers had missed the count on a magnatude of 10 or more times. Thats because VICTIMS mean GOVERNMENT MONEY to the people "representing" the victims.
XL400236
6:46:24 AM

As you mentioned, the reason it's lacking (although, to what extent is unknown), is because they won't open the door. Like XL originally said, "Poor is not a condition it is a Choice".
