Divinity
Sorry , but I can't make it for this trip. I have to be here for my family, they come first. I have been off for a month and now I can't get away for one weekend, BUMMER. Check with walkindude and see if he is still interested in making this trip. I'm sure he won't mind a driver/rider.

I AM bringing other stuff Cross..
I have some of that sour apple schnaps that Gemini introduced me too and I have some berry vodka.
Last year there were lots of great things to eat around town.
Yeah Carlette we can make fuzzy navels with that peach schnapps...course I dont' know how.
As for butter I don't even eat seafood so you guys are on your own on that one.

Hiking from Elk Garden to or near MT.Rogers isn't even part of that Grayson's hike..the closest you will come is the shelter it's a whole different area. You can also pick up the AT in town and head South and hike the AT that way, Bernice and I did that a 2 yrs ago it's a tough climb up out of town but very pretty.

Gemini and I did backbone rock over in Tenn last year, not a hard hike but lots of obsticals I remember the great waterfall with wet, moss covered steps...that was a slow downhill.

Porta Potties
You know what...I hate porta-johns. I assume they'll have them in the campground and that sucks. I like to stumble out of my tent at 3am to take a pee on a nearby tree...I don't want to walk across a 20 acre field to a porta-john. Now I remember why I hate car camping. But don't think I'm gonna make that trek to the porta-john at 3am...cause I'm not. Viva la backpacking!

fuzzy navels, i can make'em, need OJ, that peach shnapps and vodka, a little triple sec if ya want, but could do without.

I could grab some good seafood and ice it down good too... just thought of that.

There are bathrooms and showers at the free campground. And...just in case there are woods all around..

triple sec is good stuff too. I'll be hitting the liquor store tomorrow i think.

just like I said, I'llbring the apple vodka, and the apple schnaps for sure.
not sure about the other stuff...we'll see once I am in the store.
Gemini
8:08:06 PM
5/11/04

IF ...
Things are the same as last year... I think they would be crazy not to have some free camping... that's how that little town makes so much money on all the food we eat and shopping we do while we are there...

i am with Dub
We do need to make sure there is a local tree. After all this drinking, I don't know if I could make a 20 acre jog to the porta-john.
Sorry to hear that Karo. We will look for ya on the next trip. Speaking of people, has anyone heard from Spam lately on whether or not he is coming. I know he is a local guy to NC, if I remember correctly.
I am bringing the Russians with me amongst other things.

Hyway and Bill...are you guys thinking about bringing some seafood? If so I need to bring the oyster cooker. Let me know. Send me an email to make sure I know.

It's that yellow stuff they throw on top of it at the japanese steakhouses...looks like cheese but has the same consitency as slightly thickened grease. Mmmm...when you eat it you can feel your arteries clogging.

oriental restaurants always have to screw with the food. but yeay, I have to admit they are good, but are not oysters. They are mussels.
