Damnit!

Sorry Dub, cannot make it that weekend. I am thinking about planning a trip here in either August or November.

It'd be awesome if you could make it Simer. If you can get to Columbus by Friday afternoon you can ride with me. I won't even make you pay half in gas ;-) I assumed there might be a chance since you'll be out of school then, right? You need to meet some of us Nightcrawlers!

Scorch, wording doesn't matter ;-)

simer, if you'r gonna be home from school by then, just tell your dad you need to "borrow" his car to run to the store for something, after having furtively sneaked your gear into his trunk. then drive away fast and head south!

Simer...if you could get a flight into Columbus I'll pick you up. Greyhound is slow but cheap. Or just do like Roam...drive. How far was it to PA, 900?

backpacker.snob folks LOL. Yeah, I invited some of them but usually only one comes on each trip. Then they are assimilated to TT (like Carl). I also invited people from Ohio Backpacking.

Yeah sim, after you figure in the cost of gas, food, any hotels, plus the drive time a cheap flight into Columbus would be cheaper.

This sounds like a lot of fun. Looking forward to getting out again as it's been a few weeks for me now. But there's a possibility I might have to bail at the last minute if my bf is given a weekend pass that weekend.

It's a real small town Bison. Try McArthur Ohio. It's maybe 10-12 miles away from there. Here's my page for Zeleski complete with park map, trail map, forest link, and topozone.com link.

Yesterday in Ohio, a man whose car was pulled over for a routine traffic stop shot himself in the head as officers approached his car. Police said the crowd of people gathered at the scene at about 9:10 p.m. The crowd surrounded the officers and accused them of shooting the man who had killed himself. At about 9:15 p.m., one person in the crowd fired several shots in the direction of the police and paramedics, causing the officers to take cover behind various rescue vehicles and cars, according to police. At the height of the episode, a van belonging to WCPO-TV was set on fire and a large rock was thrown through the windshield.

Sure I'll come to Ohio. In light of what happened yesterday, I am compelled to as is Ohio a carry concealed state?

Simer190, if you can get to Illinois, I can drive you there and back, even Forest. But I am also compelled to ask, has Forest bitten anyonce since he tore flesh from you Pastor and landlord?

I don't have a problem with a dog, might bring mine if you're bringing yours...but I'll leave her at home if no one else is bringing one.

Bison, if you can't get Friday off, no sweat, there's a shortcut trail that will take a few miles off the trip to the Saturday night camp.

Vicsaw, we'll have a blast. Let me know when you're coming. I'll probably skip class that Friday but if most people won't be arriving til late I'll go and be late as well.

uhhhhhh, more like 1,150 - one way.

Zeleski didn't show up for me either, must be spelling it wrong, but McArthur is only 984 miles, pffft, nothin to it.

Dub

flights would save me on vacation day usage though.

I just have to be able to plan ahead far enough in advance. It's easier to do in the summer time when the kids are at their mother's house.

I don't have to worry about whether the "babysitter" is gonna bail on me at the last minute leaving me stuck with a plane ticket.

So many trips, so little free time.

Working for a living sucks.

Hehe, that's why I'm trying to get in as many trips as I can before I graduate in October and jump into the real world.

A flight from Orlando to Columbus is only $130 round trip if you buy now. Just get there before 2pm on Friday and I'll pick you up.

Well, if we started hiking at 8-9am, we'd get to the car at 12-1, then it's 2 hours to the airport, so 3-4pm the earliest, I'd try to get a flight around 6-7pm to be safe.
Dub

os1johnson, you're not out of luck...if you look at this trip you'll see that the two people signed up for you trip have plans of their own in the same timeframe. I'd delete the trip and do Z as it's way closer than Manistee.
