I don't get cranky when fasting, I just babble incoherently.

I haven't been solo since January 2000 on Roaring Plains.
It was 5 degrees and windy without a cloud.
I really had to hustle across the open saddle before my face burned off but the visibility was unlimited.
Going alone is a spiritual experience for me.

Since then I haven't been able to shake my middle son and his buddy.
The three of us, and sometimes others, have stomped all over the Monongahela National Forest.”

For me, it’s all about enjoying myself with friends. We don’t get to see each other often enough and a few days on the trail gives us a chance to get caught up.”

It seems like an odd sort of redneck colony.

The area is nice.
I would like to build a shack in that Glady/Bemis area.
Is the land fairly cheap?

“LOL, Bemis is a lil redneck town. When I am there I use my fourwheeler to get around as do most of the townspeople.

The land used to be fairly cheap before people started buying it for camps. We bought 7 acres for $14K which isn't bad. And my uncle bought some more adjacent to it so we wouldn't get crowded. They just got telephone lines out there last year. It's very quiet and nice.”

Same token, it's great being in a troop and getting to know others. I enjoy both worlds and go both ways too. (that sounds pretty bad)”

I like surprises..
I meet interesting people when I'm by myself..
I compromise enough at home and at work..I need time to do what I want, when I want without explainig why I want..
I like me..

that said, I did enjoy my first group trip that Lizs arranged and I'm looking forward to my second this week-end that Prosecutor is putting together..I've really enjoyed the people I've met so far..but, I think I will always prefer actually walking alone..I'm so slow and I like that speed..”
