Looking for fresh ideas here.

Breakfast. And, barring bad weather, prolly a hike at the local nature preserve.

Yep, I'm screwed. I haven't had anytime to get anything. Frickin` job. Maybe I should quit? :)

hmmm. maybe you should. :-P

don't you think "stay-at-home-dad" makes a wonderful mother's day present for OP? clean house, dinner on the table, etc... i think she'd like that.

I'll give my mom a call like every year. She lives in Germany and is scared of flying.

As for myself: I am still hoping for the ultimate mothersday present. like a trip west without having to feel guilty that I left. LOL

I don't know if I can sqweeze that out for a Mother's Day thing. I might have to roll up the sleeves after I get home from work on Saturday Night........!

the "clean house, dinner on the table" suggestion wasn't about mother's day. that's what you'll be giving her every day once you become cinderfella!!!!

Today I head over to REI to hook my mom up with a daypack, Nalgene, whistle/compass and a Michigan trails book. It's almost like a present to myself, I'm so tickled she wants this stuff! =D

Myself, I get to go out to lunch Sunday and I'm sure Birch and Ab will make the day special. We don't really do gifts for days like that.

I get called mother@#!%^* quite often. Does this make me eligible for at least a card?

No, Nigal, you have to wait until the Greeting Card industry invents Mother#&%!$er's Day, sorry...

We're getting together for brunch tomorrow at my moms.

After that, the grandkids and I are making gifts for the moms, aunties and grammies in the family.

We're decorating frames for their mother. Then depending on how far we get, they can make refrigerator magnets (some with pics for the grammies) and keychains.

Tek,
As you know I'm in Ca and my folks are in Pa, so I'm not doing much with my mom, just a card and a phone call. As for Mrs Hikin' Mike, our anniversary is coming up and we are going to try and get a room in Oakhurst or Fish Camp next Friday/Saturday. Hope to be one of the first cars over Tioga Pass this year!

My mother gave me a pretty big guilt trip for not coming to see her on MOther's Day (saw her last weekend and will again next weekend) so I made plans to go see her. She already has other plans now.

I freakin' can't win!

Well, yah, responding to other people's attempts to manipulate you is a no-win situation.

Tell your mom that you'd like to have a grown-up relationship with her now, and for her to spare you the guilt-trips.

(I would have said "adult", but that can carry other connotations, lol....)
