Trailhead Shuttle Info

“OK, 60 days and counting. Regarding the trailhead shuttle: I just spoke with Lou with Kountry Korners and her shuttle service would be $55 for up to 5, and $65 for up to 10. The general plan would be to park at North Lake [the exit trailhead] and be shuttled to South Lake. This would allow any faster hikers to bail when thy get to North Lake. Any other ideas?”

“North Lake and South Lake both have parking lots with restrooms at their trailheads. I've spend the night in my truck before backpacking trips starting at those trailheads without any problems. I don't see that we'll have any problem leaving some vehicles at each trailhead. If anyone leaves early and comes out at the wrong trailhead, I'm sure they'll be able to hitch a ride to the other trailhead.”

“The drive isn't that far. We leave enough vehicles at each trailhead to handle contingencies. We will then shuttle and converge on Bishop to celebrate my birthday and entrance to seniorhood. We spend the night in Bishop and then boogie home early the next day...something like that.”
