Nice story Buck! Thanks! Too bad this thread will go down just like the others with hand ringing and doom and gloom within 50 posts. LOL!

Good story. But what do you mean it didn't make the news? What, did a squirrel whisper it in your ear? Not everything is a media conspiracy. Tony Randall's death coverup may be, but not everything.

He fought with the M16 until it was out of ammo. Then he fought with the Beretta until it was out of ammo. Then he picked up a dead man’s AK47 and fought with that until it was out of ammo.

Jeezus! I would have tried to picked up the AK before resorting to my sidearm. That guy's got brass clankers.

No Violin
Bob is not part of the media. he is the far right. I remember him from my exile in Rochester. Of course, being from the far right, means the far left was able to have him removed from his talk radio spot. How was this accomplished? Here:

Racism, Johnson says, had not been a factor in his political career until last week, when it was reported that former WHAM 1180 host Bob Lonsberry said over the air that a monkey was running for county executive.

"Orangutan escapes from zoo, runs for county executive," were Lonsberry's now infamous words.

What followed was a firestorm of press conferences. Politicians on both sides of the aisle, members of the local clergy, and other organizations expressed shock. Some, including some local Republicans, called for Lonsberry's dismissal or resignation. Lonsberry was suspended. He apologized and agreed to undergo diversity training. But public pressure mounted and WHAM finally agreed dump Lonsberry on Monday.

"After Mr. Lonsberry made inappropriate comments on the air, he convinced us that he was willing to face his mistakes and learn from his behavior," reads a press release from the station. "Although Mr. Lonsberry expressed willingness to change, it became obvious to us that he is not embracing diversity or the beliefs of the station."

Note - I did not submit that story to detract from the soldier. I despise Bob and needed to attack him.

Thank you.

That guy was amazingly brave! I get the feeling pedxing is cut from the same courageous mold, willing to charge headlong into danger for the sake of saving others. If I were in the military right now, I'd want pedxing in my unit. No doubt.

THE CITATION

Whilst serving in Iraq as part of a joint special forces patrol with members of the Australian Special Air Service Regiment and US Rangers, Corporal ******* was dispatched with a number of the Australian SAS to carry out reconnaissance in an area of Baghdad occupied by large numbers of foreign enemy fighters involved in acts of terrorism within Iraq. During the reconnaissance, Corporal ******* and the Australian SAS soldier came under enemy engagement consisting of heavy gunfire, involving close quarters battle, over a period of two hours. During this time the Australian SAS soldier sustained life-threatening gunshot injuries and trauma. Corporal ****** gave immediate medical assistance. Whilst still under heavy attack from RPG and machine gun fire at close quarters, Corporal ****** engaged the enemy and continued to give medical assistance to the Australian SAS soldier. Corporal *******, whilst administering medical assistance, returned fire on the enemy and called in air strike. Corporal *******, killed some 36 enemy. Whilst fighting his way out of the area, he carried the injured Australian SAS soldier on his back for three miles, before being airlifted out of the area by helicopter. Corporal ****** during the engagement sustained shrapnel injuries requiring a period of medical treatment back in UK. Corporal *********'s actions showed the highest level of valour and gallantry in the face of overwhelming number of enemy and in the rescue of the Australian SAS soldier. It is recommended to her

Majesty that Corporal ********* be awarded the Victoria Cross

The Victoria Cross is the highest award for the Military.
The George Cross is the highest for Civilian bravery.

The vast majority of Victoria Cross's are awarded posthumously, 3 people have been awarded the VC twice, I think 2 of the 3 the second was posthumous (dead)

"Corporal ****** during the engagement sustained shrapnel injuries requiring a period of medical treatment back in UK."

According to some people on this Board, shrapnel injuries are for pussies. This so called brave act only resulted in a few nicks! What a joke! Jenna Bush is much braver for staying home and being very patriotic during this national crisis, and I can't bevlieve we are wasting time decorating communists like this, and not focusing more on Jenna, and her wealthy sliver-spoon friends of people in high places.
